Senior Dependency Engineer, Go
Xebia
• building Snap packages • using LXD • handling dependencies in a large monorepo-based ecosystem • working with Go modules: understanding project structures, go.mod, and dependency types (required, indirect, extended) • performing advanced semantic versioning (semver), including: version bumping, working with tags, updating modules, synchronizing versions across multiple repositories, migrating and updating dependencies across different repositories according to the release process.
Job Requirements
- ability to work between 8-16/9-17 East coast time in US (14:00-22:00 CET)
- basic knowledge of LXD
- familiarity with Ubuntu Snap / Snapcraft
- working knowledge of Python
- understanding of snapd and the broader Ubuntu ecosystem
- experience with Launchpad
- knowledge of Go, particularly dependency management in monorepo environments
- hands-on experience with Go modules
- experience working with go.mod files
- strong understanding of semantic versioning
- proficiency with Git and Gitflow
- familiarity with CI/CD processes
- excellent troubleshooting skills for Go modules, including resolving module issues and dependency conflicts
- very good communication skills (English at least B2)
