• Prepare quarterly and annual worldwide income tax provisions (US + local foreign) and disclosures in accordance with US GAAP, including SFAS 109 (ASC 740) and FIN 48 (ASC 740-10) • Manage the monthly and quarterly close process, including preparing transfer pricing calculations for all the foreign subsidiaries, preparing tax journal entries and tax account reconciliations • Maintain and assist documentation of worldwide income tax provisions in complying with SOX 404 requirements • Research complex tax issues, monitor tax legislation and accounting standard update, and assist with the relevant tax impact analysis • Coordinate and prepare income tax returns with outside tax providers and review federal and international tax forms and state tax returns • Work with outside service providers to prepare annual US R&D credit. Manage income tax audits and respond to all tax notices and IDR requests • Identify and implement improvements in systems, tools and process to drive accuracy and efficiency • Assist with special projects such as the TP strategy, M&A transactions, and Restructuring
Job Requirements
- CPA
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field
- At least 12+ years of relevant experience, and a minimum of 8 years of significant experience with ASC 740 and U.S. international tax matters (e.g., GILTI, FDII, BEAT, and FTC, tax treaty)
- At least 5+ years of work on in-house tax teams, with a strong understanding of the income tax regulations in all 50 states and at the Federal level
- At least 4 years of work experience at a “Big 4” accounting firm focused on income tax provision
- Experience working in a fast paced work environment, ideally in the tech industry
- Timeliness: Strong deadline management skills with the ability to lead cross-functional collaborators to an outcome on a set timeline
- Someone who is detail oriented and deadline oriented

The Client Nexus Specialist will analyze various economic and other presence factors to determine where existing clients have changes in their sales tax nexus obligations on an annual basis. - Client Offboarding. The Client Nexus Specialist will be responsible for working with clients during their offboarding process. This includes negotiating with clients to explore opportunities for them to remain with TaxValet. If the client decides to proceed with offboarding, the CNS will ensure a smooth transition by managing permit closure information, computing final billings, completing necessary paperwork, and removing the client from TaxValet's systems, all while ensuring they have a positive experience at the conclusion of our service. - Permit Opening, Closure, and Client Offboarding. The Client Nexus Specialist is responsible for initiating changes to existing client accounts resulting from a nexus review conducted, specifically in the areas of permit application, permit closure, and offboarding. This includes identifying the appropriate permit type for new permits, as well as completing the necessary Formstack preparation for both permit openings and closures before handing the project over to the assigned Client Tax Specialist. - Support Existing Clients. You will support existing clients and their assigned hub to help with any issues that come up in regard to nexus, state nexus questionnaires, use tax, resale certificate and offboarding concerns of existing clients - Project Audit. You will complete client project audits and peer reviews to ensure our clients' work is done correctly and all information is up-to-date. These processes are also used as a training opportunity for our team. - Contributing to Client Success beyond Onboarding. You will actively work with the team to identify and implement improvements to project workflows. Specific Measures of Success No surprises here! After a year on the job, you’ll be measured by these specific outcomes: - The Client Nexus Specialist will ensure that tax exposure resulting from errors in nexus reviews completed within the trailing 12-month period remains below 3% of the maximum ideal exposure as % of net income in the Known Client Risk Pool - The Client Nexus Specialist will ensure that less than 10% of nexus reviews completed in the trailing 12-month period have substantial errors as identified through peer review. Substantial errors are defined as inaccuracies that could lead to a possible exposure or non-compliant decision for the client. - The Client Nexus Specialist will be responsible for supporting 66 existing clients for CNS-related concerns per month. - The Client Nexus Specialist will be responsible for completing 8 nexus reviews per month. - The Client Nexus Specialist will be responsible for managing 20-25 Resale certificates, Use Tax, State Questionnaires and Offboarding projects per month. - 100% of open tickets should be responded to by the Client Nexus Specialist within 48 hours - Completion of online education and training. You will complete 3 hours per quarter of educational training. - Completion Rate of Quarterly Rocks.
