Job Description
Engineering Manager
Transcend Inc.
Role Description Transcend is seeking highly motivated and experienced Engineering Managers. The ideal candidate is a player-coach engineering leader, someone who can manage a high-performing team in a fast-paced environment, and who is able to deep-dive into the stack when necessary. We are looking for Engineering Managers to lead our following teams: - Consent Configuration & Regulation: - Collect & enforce user consent, and provide our customers with useful tools to consume that consent data. - One of these tools functions similarly as a firewall running on your browser to selectively block or allow data to be sent out to backend servers. - Other tools provide APIs & UIs to access consent data to ensure user consent is respected before being used by internal systems. - Assessments & Platform: - Own the Assessments product and core platform capabilities. - Assessments enables customers to create, assign, and manage privacy compliance reviews -- including DPIAs, vendor risk assessments, and AI governance assessments -- with automated triggers, approval workflows, and direct output to Records of Processing Activities (RoPAs) and the Data Inventory. - On the platform side, the team owns cross-product infrastructure like the task management system (action items, notifications, error routing), audit logs, data reports, and shared UX patterns -- working across the full stack in TypeScript, React, and GraphQL against Postgres at meaningful scale. This is a remote, Exempt, Full Time position based in the United States. The successful candidate must have valid work authorization, as visa sponsorship is not available. This role reports directly to our senior Engineering Managers. What you'll do - Manage a team of engineers, fostering a collaborative culture and upholding high technical standards. - Grow the team through hiring and nurturing engineering talent. - Leverage your technical expertise in software engineering to guide the team in building robust and scalable solutions. - Review & provide feedback for technical design docs and code changes. - Collaborate with the product team to create and execute the product roadmap. - Take on development tasks and debug production issues when necessary – this often involves diving into the details of infrastructure implementation, job systems, and full-stack features. - Grow the team and evolve processes to fit changing needs. Qualifications - You have 5+ years of experience in software engineering and are proficient in Javascript/Typescript. - You have experience building full-stack products, with contribution to both frontend and backend. - You have 2+ years of experience in managing or leading engineering teams with a record of shipping high-quality products in a fast-paced environment. - You are an excellent technical communicator to a diverse group of audiences. - You have a collaborative mindset and proven experience in working in cross-functional teams in a remote environment. - You are passionate about privacy and eager to contribute to a mission-driven organization. Compensation Information Our comprehensive compensation packages play a big part in how we recognize you for the impact you have on our path to bringing data rights to everyone. The compensation pay range represents our reasonable expectation for this role. Individual pay is determined by multiple factors, including, but not limited to, experience, education, skillset, and geographic location. This specific range applies to Tier 1 labor markets like the SF Bay Area and New York City; it may be adjusted based on the labor market in other geographic areas and the individual qualifications objectively assessed during the interview process. USA Pay Range: $180,000 — $200,000 USD Benefits - Flexible PTO - Parental leave - 401(k) match - Competitive compensation packages that include employee equity Company Description Transcend is the compliance layer for customer data, enabling enterprises to activate AI responsibly and at scale.
