Role Description Weyerhaeuser is searching for an experienced Engineered Wood Products Designer to become a member of our Western Specification Team aligned within our dynamic Marketing and Sales organization. The primary role for this position is design and drafting, with a secondary emphasis on service coordination, as well as customer and market interaction. This role is a remote work from home position, with the occasional need to be on site at one of our Distribution Centers located in: - Denver, CO - Jacksonville, FL - Dallas/San Antonio/Houston, TX - Charlotte, NC - Richmond, VA - Easton, PA This role is not open to those who live in other states or countries. Key Functions: - Use design tools and software applications to provide technical services supporting the design and specification of Weyerhaeuser Structural Frame products. - Produce comprehensive framing layouts for floor, roof, and wall systems. - Provide design calculations for single structural members. - Offer design consultation to dealers, builders, general contractors, building inspectors, architects, engineers, sales associates, and owners. Qualifications - 2-year technical degree OR equivalent construction industry experience. - Ability to read and comprehend Residential Wood Frame construction documents. - Microsoft Office suite knowledge – Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Teams, etc. - Excellent communication and customer service skills. - Able and willing to reside in one of our operating locations. Requirements - Residential wood framing construction background. - Working knowledge of CAD and/or estimating applications. - Certification in structural/architectural drafting. - Previous experience with Engineered Wood Products (i-joists, GLB’s). - Previous Designer or Estimator experience. - Understanding of roof and floor load development. Benefits - Compensation: Targeting a salary range of $58,000 - $88,000 based on skills, qualifications, and experience. Eligible for an Annual Incentive Program with a cash bonus targeting 5% of base pay. - Comprehensive employee benefits plan including medical, dental, vision, short and long-term disability, and life insurance. - Pre-tax Health Savings Account option with company contribution. - Other benefit options such as voluntary Long-Term Care and Employee Assistance Programs. - 401k plan with a paid company match and annual contribution equal to 5% of your base salary. - 3 weeks of paid vacation during the first year of employment for eligible employees scheduled to work 25 hours or more per week. - Eleven paid holidays per year, providing a total of 88 holiday hours.
