SAP ECC Application Developer
Essendant
• Design, develop, and enhance SAP ECC solutions, ensuring alignment with business processes and technical standards. • Lead and execute projects – both independently and in collaboration with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality technology solutions. • Partner with business stakeholders to understand, refine, and document business requirements. • Create comprehensive functional and technical specifications that support solution design and development. • Develop, coordinate, and perform system testing, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and readiness for production deployment. • Analyze solution options, effort, and timelines, providing accurate estimates for enhancements and project work. • Provide day-to-day application support for critical business systems. • Troubleshoot and resolve system issues in a timely and structured manner, from investigation through final resolution. • Grow as a subject-matter expert in Finance applications and processes supported, serving as a trusted resource and advisor. • Communicate system changes, key procedures, and critical updates to IT teams, management, and business partners. • Contribute to documentation, knowledge sharing, and continuous improvement of support and solution processes. • Build strong, trusted partnerships across IT, business teams, and peers to foster alignment and collaboration. • Demonstrate and reinforce Essendant’s Core Values and Guiding Actions in all interactions and deliverables.
Job Requirements
- Strong SAP ECC FI/CO experience.
- Material Master understanding for Finance (inventory valuation, product costing, and GL integration).
- Advanced SAP configuration and Data Dictionary knowledge.
- ABAP development, including enhancements, user exits, custom reports, Smart Forms, and debugging.
- Experience with IDocs, ALE, FTP/SFTP/SMTP.
- Self-directing individual - demonstrating teamwork, organizational skills and well-structured working approach given multiple priorities.
- Microsoft tools proficiency.
- Vistex experience in rebates, chargebacks, or incentives (preferred).
- Familiarity with Agile and Waterfall methodologies (preferred).
- Troubleshooting complex Finance processes (preferred).
- Unix/Linux, SQL, ServiceNow, Jira experience (preferred).
- Familiarity with large language models (LLMs) such as ChatGPT or Microsoft Copilot to accelerate solution design, coding, troubleshooting, and process optimization (preferred).
- Vendor management (preferred).
- SAP S/4HANA Finance exposure (preferred).
