Role Description Altus is seeking a Java Programmer/Manager to lead the development and infrastructure initiatives of our technology team. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on expertise in: - Spring.IO - Java programming - MySQL database management - AWS cloud services (EC2, Elastic Services, S3, and file transfer protocols) This role requires a combination of technical depth and leadership ability, overseeing development projects while managing a team and ensuring alignment with business objectives. Qualifications - Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience). - 7-10 years of hands-on experience with Java and Spring.IO frameworks. - Strong proficiency in MySQL database management. - Demonstrated experience with AWS services: EC2, Elastic Load Balancing, S3, and related configurations. - Experience with file transfer protocols (SFTP/FTP/FTPS). - Proven leadership or managerial experience in a technology team. - Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot across the full stack. - Excellent communication skills with both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Preferred Qualifications - Experience with Kubernetes, Jenkins, or other CI/CD pipelines. - Knowledge of security best practices for AWS and database management. - Familiarity with additional cloud platforms or enterprise application frameworks. - Prior experience in an insurance, financial services, or regulated industry (a plus). • Build and iterate on customer-facing experiments across web and app platforms. • Implement A/B tests, landing pages, onboarding flows, feature experiments, and conversion improvements. • Rapidly prototype and validate new customer experiences with a focus on learning and iteration speed. • Contribute to improving booking funnels, user journeys, and conversion performance across platforms. • Optimise and refine experiments based on analytics, customer behaviour, and performance insights. • Develop and maintain customer-facing functionality within Next.js web applications and React Native / Expo mobile applications. • Write clean, readable, and maintainable TypeScript and React code aligned with team standards. • Support implementation of responsive and performant UI experiences across devices. • Collaborate closely with Analytics and Product teams to validate hypotheses and measure success.
