Senior Lead, Software Engineering – Workday HCM Compensation Specialist

• Provide functional expertise and leadership in the design, development, and implementation of Workday HR solutions • Partner with stakeholders to design and implement solutions using Workday, focusing on Compensation and Advanced Compensation management modules • Supporting the Workday Compensation capability area, with opportunities to contribute to HCM Core, Staffing/Onboarding, Benefits, Talent Management, and Recruiting • Partnering with the Compensation/Total Rewards Team to design and deploy complex global annual merit and bonus cycles • Analyzing, designing, developing, and delivering functional modifications and enhancements to Workday HR systems/tools • Serving as a Workday SME, actively participating in Workday Releases and staying ahead of new features • Managing annual compensation administration, including merit and incentive processes, and ensuring system/data interfaces are optimized • Maintaining salary administration, including job structure, total compensation structure, eligibility, communication, and training • Configuring, testing, and administering annual processes in Workday (e.g., Performance Reviews, Compensation cycles) • Creating and maintaining dashboards for business leaders • Auditing system data for accuracy and serving as the primary reviewer for data entry • Proactively planning and coordinating departmental preparations for major system updates • Acting as the main support contact for user questions and taking ownership of identified issues • Translating business and technical requirements into architectural blueprints and identifying solutions for Workday product gaps • Providing global coverage, including Americas, EMEA, and APAC regions
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree (Master’s or advanced certifications preferred)
- 3+ years as a hands-on Workday SME, configuring and maintaining HCM, Core, and Advanced Compensation modules
- Experience leading Core and Advanced Compensation cycles in Workday
- Experience deploying multiple Workday HCM implementations
- Excellent customer service and communication skills to work with executive leadership and clients
- Strong communication skills to translate business needs into system configuration
- Knowledge of HR processes and touch points in HCM, payroll, benefits, time tracking, recruiting, and security
- Experience supporting HCM Core, Staffing/On boarding, Benefits, Talent Management, and Recruiting
- Certifications: Workday Core HR, Workday Compensation

• Lead the design, architecture, and delivery of complex product initiatives across web and mobile platforms • Build and enhance React and React Native applications used by tens of thousands of veterinary professionals and industry partners • Set engineering standards, drive code quality, and ensure strong test coverage across the codebase • Develop scalable components, shared libraries, and architectural patterns that support team-wide productivity • Mentor engineers, provide technical guidance, and influence engineering direction across multiple teams • Partner closely with our CTO, engineering leadership, and cross-functional stakeholders to define and execute high-impact solutions • Design features and data models with accuracy, security, and performance in mind, including optimizing database queries and API interactions • Troubleshoot complex issues across the stack and lead efforts to improve system performance and reliability
• Evaluating and selecting the most appropriate AI models for our products based on our business needs and requirements. • Collaborating with our data science team to fine-tune AI models for optimal performance in our products. • Developing and maintaining AI-powered application features using Python • Testing and validating the performance of AI models in real-world scenarios and troubleshooting issues as they arise. • Staying up-to-date with the latest advancements in AI technology and identifying opportunities for innovation within our products. • Work directly with our CTO and engineering team, as well as across other functions to continuously evolve our platform and products
