Job Description

Sustainability Manager, Data, Controls & Compliance

Nebius Group

• Identify the sustainability metrics we need today and will need in the future. • Set up simple, repeatable ways for teams to provide sustainability data. • Investigate inconsistencies, get to the root cause, and help teams fix them. • Turn raw ESG numbers into clear insights for reports, filings, external communications and internal decision-makers. • Keep track of new reporting rules and update processes when they change. • Lead interactions with auditors, supplying data, explanations, documentation, and evidence trails. • Run materiality assessments and refreshes. • Design ESG control frameworks: control objectives, requirements (evidence, approvals, frequency, responsible owner) and specific control activities for each material topic. • Develop sustainability-related policies that teams can understand and actually use.

Job Requirements

  • At least 4 years of experience in ESG data management, sustainability reporting, audit or a related field.
  • A strong understanding of sustainability regulations and standards (incl. CSRD/ESRS, EU Taxonomy, GHG Protocol).
  • Solid spreadsheet skills (complex formulas, lookups, pivots, consistency checks).
  • Hands-on experience setting up or operating control processes (review / approval flows, evidence trails)
  • Strong critical thinking - you naturally question numbers, spot inconsistencies, and dig until you understand.
  • A structured working style – you’re able to prioritize and handle multiple streams of work.
  • Clear communication skills – you can explain complex topics in simple terms to non-experts.
  • Independence and initiative - you’re comfortable building processes from scratch and improving them over time.
  • Proven ability to organize and lead cross-functional teams — coordinating stakeholders across functions, setting clear responsibilities and timelines, driving workstreams to completion.

Benefits

  • Competitive salary and comprehensive benefits package.
  • Opportunities for professional growth within Nebius.
  • Flexible working arrangements.
  • A dynamic and collaborative work environment that values initiative and innovation.
