Email Marketing Manager

• Drive user activation, engagement, and revenue through automated lifecycle email programs. • Increase retention and conversion by designing and optimizing end-to-end customer journeys. • Provide actionable insights from email performance to influence Product and Growth strategy. • Establish email as a core communication channel that reflects a polished, human, and cohesive brand voice. • Streamline email marketing processes for efficiency, accuracy, and scalability. Core Responsibilities**Lifecycle Infrastructure & Orchestration – 40%** • Own and manage the ESP and CRM stack, ensuring smooth integration with product data. • Build and maintain dynamic user segments based on behavioral and usage data. • Maintain list hygiene and compliance with GDPR, CAN-SPAM, and related regulations. • Architect end-to-end automated journeys: Welcome, Onboarding, Activation, Nurture, Upsell, and Win-back flows. **Lifecycle Strategy & Optimization – 30%** • Define and execute lifecycle strategy across the full user funnel. • Identify friction points and design targeted interventions to improve activation and retention. • Run A/B tests on subject lines, timing, layouts, messaging, and CTAs. • Monitor key performance metrics and translate results into actionable recommendations for Product and Growth teams. **Campaign Execution & Creative – 30%** • Design, write, and build high-quality, visually compelling emails aligned with brand standards. • Own newsletters, product updates, feature launches, and community communications. • Ensure proper rendering across devices and inbox providers. • Customize and troubleshoot email templates using HTML/CSS as needed.
Job Requirements
- Must-Haves (Required)
- 3–5+ years of experience in Lifecycle Marketing, CRM, or Email Marketing.
- Proven track record of building automated lifecycle journeys from scratch in PLG SaaS or B2C environments.
- Strong experience with modern ESPs and marketing automation platforms (e.g., Customer.io, Braze, Iterable, Autopilot).
- Proficiency with data segmentation, triggers, and event-based workflows.
- Strong analytical skills with familiarity in Mixpanel, Amplitude, or Google Analytics.
- Excellent copywriting skills with a human, engaging tone.
- Working knowledge of HTML/CSS for email customization.
- Nice-to-Haves (Preferred)
- Hands-on experience with generative AI or creative tools.
- Familiarity with Figma, Photoshop, or similar design platforms.
- Experience in early-stage or fast-scaling startup environments.
- Ability to operate independently with minimal existing process.
- Basic SEO knowledge as it applies to email campaigns.
