Role Description Peraton is seeking a Software Engineer. This position will support the Defense Manpower Data Center (DMDC) Account as a Java Application Software Developer. These developers collaborate with business analysts, testers, and stakeholders to implement features, resolve issues, and optimize system performance. Responsibilities include: - Coding, debugging, testing, and deploying software, focusing on data quality, interoperability, and compliance with security and regulatory requirements. - Conducting research in design, development, testing, and utilization of electronic data processing software. - Designing, developing, documenting, testing, and debugging applications software and systems that contain logical and mathematical solutions. - Conducting multidisciplinary research and collaborating with equipment designers and/or hardware engineers in the planning, design, development, and utilization of electronic data processing systems for product and commercial software. - Determining computer user needs; analyzing system capabilities to resolve problems on program intent, output requirements, input data acquisition, programming techniques, and controls; preparing operating instructions; designing and developing compilers and assemblers, utility programs, and operating systems. - Ensuring software standards are met. - Analyzing user needs and software requirements to determine feasibility of design within time and cost constraints. - Conferring with systems analysts, engineers, programmers, and others to design systems and obtain information on project limitations and capabilities, performance requirements, and interfaces. - Designing, developing, and modifying software systems, using scientific analysis and mathematical models to predict and measure outcomes and consequences of design. - Coordinating software system installations and monitoring equipment functioning to ensure specifications are met. Qualifications - 5 years with BS/BA; 3 years with MS/MA; 0 years with PhD; 9 years with HS diploma. - Requires U.S. Citizenship. - Must have current/active DoD Public Trust. - Must have Security + certification. - Cloud development experience. - Hands-on experience developing Java EE applications on WebLogic Application Server. - In-depth knowledge of Relational Database Management Systems. - Strong understanding and working knowledge of Software Development methodologies (Waterfall, Agile/Scrum). Benefits - Target Salary Range: $66,000 - $106,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position. Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the position, the individual’s experience, education, knowledge, skills, and competencies, as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations. - Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. • Design, develop, and deploy production-ready applications using Large Language Models (LLMs), including GPT, Gemini, Claude and other foundation models through AWS Bedrock • Build and optimize sophisticated RAG (Retrieval-Augmented Generation) architectures that can process and retrieve information from large-scale document repositories • Implement and orchestrate multi-agent AI systems using AWS Bedrock Agents and AgentCore frameworks • Design scalable AI pipelines that integrate with enterprise systems and maintain performance at production scale • Develop robust backend services and APIs for AI applications using Python and modern frameworks • Implement containerization and deployment strategies for AI applications • Build monitoring and observability solutions to track AI system performance, quality, and costs • Design and optimize high-quality prompts and templates that guide LLM behavior and responses • Implement advanced prompt engineering techniques to maximize model performance and accuracy • Evaluate and fine-tune models for specific use cases when appropriate • Continuously experiment with different model configurations, hyperparameters, and architectures • Partner with vertical areas and stakeholders to understand requirements and translate them into technical solutions • Stay current with the latest advancements in generative AI research and evaluate emerging foundation models • Contribute to technical documentation, best practices, and knowledge sharing within the team • Participate in Sales initiatives related to Generative AI

• Design, develop, and maintain ELT data pipelines in Snowflake • Design and build Informatica IICS mappings for batch, mass ingestion, and incremental data ingestion • Develop and schedule IICS Taskflows for orchestration, dependencies, retries, and error handling • Integrate data from Oracle Fusion Analytics (FAW) into Snowflake using IICS • Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize IICS workflows and data pipelines • Implement CI/CD pipelines for Snowflake and IICS assets • Use GitHub for source control, versioning, code reviews, and deployments • Write, optimize, and tune complex SQL for data transformations, CDC, and analytics use cases • Develop Snowflake stored procedures using SQL and Python • Implement incremental and near-real-time data processing using Snowflake Streams and Tasks • Support multi-environment Snowflake deployments (Dev, QA, Prod) • Automate deployment of Snowflake SQL objects, stored procedures using PowerShell • Provide production support, root cause analysis, and performance tuning • Collaborate with data analysts, architects, and business stakeholders • Document technical designs, standards, and operational procedures
