Performance Test Engineer
General Electric - GE
• Review commercial guarantees, test expectations/requirements, and develop performance test procedures in accordance with contracts and international standards • Prepare, plan, and execute field thermal performance tests • Analyze data, calculate test results, diagnose and evaluate testing and thermal performance issues • Analyze and develop thermal performance corrective actions as needed • Prepare test reports for internal and external distribution • Execute statistical risk and error propagation analyses • Communicate and coordinate with internal and external customers regarding testing activities, schedules, technical issues, and test results • Support continued development and improvement of performance analysis tools and processes • Support new service development initiatives
Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering from an accredited university
- Max. 4 years of professional experience
- Ability to travel extensively in support of global assignments (up to 50%)
- Master's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent (preferred)
- Prior experience in power plant performance testing and analysis (preferred)
- Strong understanding of thermodynamics and thermodynamic cycles as they relate to power generation (preferred)
- Training or proficiency in turbine design (preferred)
- Fluent in the English language
- Strong computer skills with extensive knowledge of Microsoft Excel
- Excellent oral and written communication skills to convey technical concepts to business leaders and customers
- Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving abilities
- Desire for continual improvement and skills development
- Desire to bring forward creative new ideas to help shape future growth opportunities
