Role Description As a Substation Physical Designer, you will be working in a project team environment with engineers and other designers involved in high and extra high voltage substation design. Responsibilities will include the preparation of the following substation drawings: - Substation General Arrangement - Substation Electrical Equipment Plans - Substation Section Views (Elevations) - Substation Detailed Bill of Material - Substation Lightning Stroke Shielding Plan - Substation Grounding Plan - Substation Conduit, Electrical Connection and Grounding Details - Substation Below Grade Conduit/Raceway Plan - Control Building Equipment, Cable Tray, Lighting, Grounding Plans and Section Other responsibilities include, but are not limited to: - Interpreting and incorporating vendor information into design deliverables. - Performing walkdowns at client facilities. - Applying Client's standards related to the work. Qualifications - We do not sponsor employees for work authorization in the U.S. for this position. - A minimum of 10 years of substation physical design experience. - An Associate’s Degree in Drafting, or a high school diploma and 2 or more years drafting course work or equivalent technical experience. - Proficient with AutoCAD and/or MicroStation. - Ability to visualize parts in 3D without the aid of the computer. Requirements - An Associate's Degree in Computer Aided Design. - Knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principles involved in production of technical plans, blueprints, drawings, and models. - Knowledge of the practical application of engineering science and technology, including the ability to relate various equipment to a technical design. • Lead high-impact brand campaigns from concept through execution using a systems-thinking approach, spending approximately 60% of your time on visual design and concept development and 40% on production-focused execution. • Use your expertise in type, grid, and color to evolve our visual language—knowing exactly when to stick to the rules and when to strategically break them to keep the brand engaging. • Provide multiple viable creative directions for every brief, avoiding one-dimensional solutions. • Self-audit all work for quality and strategic alignment before moving to review or production. • Anticipate the "downstream" impact of design choices on high-volume production and technical specs, including building and evolving scalable templates across platforms. • Distill vague briefs and shifting client feedback into clear, actionable design solutions. • Ensure every visual execution ladders up to broader brand initiatives and business goals. • Jump into projects mid-stream and gain immediate momentum without sacrificing quality. • Manage and track evolving technical requirements across various platforms during fast-paced sprints, while contributing across multiple concurrent workstreams. • Accurately scope work and maintain independent accountability for all deadlines.

• Develop brand campaigns through high-volume production, scaling artwork across platforms while maintaining creative integrity. • Execute with a solid grasp of design fundamentals—specifically grid systems, layout, and typographic hierarchy. • Build, evolve, and manage complex Figma template systems and scalable component libraries, using auto layout, variants, variables, and shared libraries to support efficient, high-volume production across shifting technical specs and safe zones. • Optimize production workflows within Figma to increase speed, accuracy, and cross-team efficiency, identifying opportunities to streamline systems and reduce manual work. • Independently scope, prioritize, and manage workload—anticipating technical challenges and adjusting quickly within fast-paced sprints. • Maintain a high standard for design quality, even during fast-paced sprints and quick turnarounds. • Partnering with team and discipline leads to streamline processes and create an efficient working environment. • Communicate design solutions and ideas effectively to both clients and creatives to provide clear direction.

• Develop new, or modify existing, electrical layout/plan of substation equipment and structures. • Develop new, or modify existing, substation foundation layout/plan drawings. • Develop new, or modify existing, section/elevation views from layout/plan drawings. • Develop new, or modify existing, conduit layout/plan drawings. • Develop new, or modify existing, substation grounding layout/plan drawings. • Develop new, or modify existing, control building layout/plan and section/elevation drawings. • Develop complete bill of materials for all required electrical equipment and materials. • Review and comment on equipment drawings received from vendors and manufacturers. • Collaborate with other disciplines (eg. Civil Engineers) as necessary to complete assigned work. • Assist the project team with development of processes and procedures to increase team efficiency. • Perform basic engineering calculations to support engineering design. • Apply relevant client, national and state standards to each assignment as required.
