Role Description An expat position is available for a qualified Structural Supervisor with mining experience that has worked on remote sites. Please note: A tertiary qualification (i.e. Trade Test) is essential for this position, with a stable track record (i.e. expat work experience). As the Structural Supervisor you will be responsible for overseeing the installation, maintenance, and repair of structural steel, shaft infrastructure, and related heavy equipment, ensuring that work is completed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with engineering standards. - Structural Maintenance & Repair: Oversee the repair and inspection of shaft steelwork, conveyances, station steel, ore passes, chutes, and launders. - Installation & Fabrication: Supervise the fabrication and installation of structural steel, including alignment of shaft guides, pipes, and brackets. - Safety & Compliance: Enforce strict adherence to Mine Health and Safety Act (MHSA) requirements, conduct risk assessments, and ensure compliance with site environmental policies. - Team Leadership: Lead, mentor, and schedule a team of boilermakers, welders, and contractors, including conducting toolbox talks and performance management. - Operational Planning: Plan, schedule, and execute maintenance tasks, including shutdown planning, to optimize equipment availability and reliability. - Technical Oversight: Review engineering drawings, schematics, and specifications to ensure that quality standards are met.
