Technical Translator, Mandarin
Red Hat
• Post-edit machine translations of Red Hat technical content into Mandarin, including software manuals and knowledge base articles • Translate software user interfaces • Work collaboratively with other translators • Liaise with Red Hat's technical writers, software engineers, and subject-matter experts to clarify and improve translations • Use feedback from users of Red Hat's technical documentation in Mandarin to improve translations
Job Requirements
- Professional or advanced translation ability and solid writing skills in Mandarin
- A high level of Bash experience is essential
- Python is desirable
- Perl is nice-to-have
- Average and Beginner translation ability and writing skills in Japanese is a plus
- Ability to collaborate with a global, cross-functional team
- Ability to research IT topics to ensure accurate and high-quality translations
- Prior experience localizing software user interfaces and documentation from English to Mandarin is a plus
- Familiarity with translation management systems and MT/LLM is a plus
- Experience in Engineering is a plus

In this independent contractor role, you will provide high quality written translations between English and Armenian. Successful applicants will have past experience providing written translation to local, state and federal government offices, exceptional time management skills, and a commitment to linguistic excellence. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS - You must meet ALL of the following requirements: - Reside in the United States - 18+ years of age - Five (5) years of professional experience providing written translations to local, state or federal U.S. government offices as a contractor, sub-contractor, employee, freelancer or volunteer. Two (2) of the five (5) years of experience must have been acquired within the last five years. Using Adobe mark-up tools is required. - Communicate in a timely and professional manner with Prisma team members. - Participate in quality management processes, e.g. Corrective Action Reports (CARs), Root Cause Analyses (RCAs), process improvement and solution implementation. - Take all measures necessary to protect and keep private sensitive information shared with you to carry out translation projects (e.g. PHI, PII, SBU). - Adhere to policies and processes defined in Prisma's Master Service Agreement (MSA) and the Prisma Vendor Guide.
