Staff Engineer

Spreetail

• Architect and build a brand-new, scalable platform that enables business-critical ecommerce capabilities. • Design foundational architecture, define technical standards, and deliver a production-grade platform that supports long-term growth, extensibility, and operational excellence. • Launch a scalable, production-ready platform from zero to one. • Establish foundational architecture that supports rapid feature expansion and multi-tenant growth. • Implement secure, reliable, observable systems aligned with SaaS best practices. • Create extensible APIs and UI layers for internal and external consumers. • Drive engineering standards across testing, CI/CD, code quality, and documentation. • Anticipate ecommerce-specific challenges. • Act as a technical leader and mentor while remaining hands-on.

Job Requirements

  • 8-10 years of professional software engineering experience, preferably in platform services.
  • Deep expertise in data platform engineering, backend systems, and front-end application development.
  • Proven experience building or significantly contributing to e-commerce SaaS platforms.
  • Experience working in high-growth, scaling environments.
  • Strong backend development experience (Python).
  • Strong frontend development experience (React).
  • Experience designing RESTful or GraphQL APIs.
  • Deep understanding of distributed systems and system design.
  • Experience with relational and/or NoSQL databases.
  • Experience with cloud infrastructure (AWS/Azure/GCP).
  • Experience with CI/CD, DevOps practices, and infrastructure-as-code.
  • Knowledge of secure software design principles.
  • Ability to design systems for scale and extensibility.
  • Strong understanding of multi-tenant SaaS architecture.
  • Experience handling high-volume data and transaction systems.
  • Performance tuning and database optimization experience.
