Role Description We’re seeking a Senior Full Stack Engineer to join our Products team. You’ll get experience in building, expanding and maintaining a diverse product suite including compliance, licensing, finance, and websites that drive into company goals. The team uses an AI first strategy to scale our products and systems with a focus on React, Node, Python and supporting technologies. This team reports to a Senior Engineering Manager and is fully remote. - Design, develop, test, and maintain scalable, high-quality software solutions in an agile, AI-first environment, delivering value through iterative and data-driven development. - Build and maintain full-stack applications using React on the frontend and Node.js on the backend, with Python used where appropriate. - Collaborate closely with product managers, designers, and other engineers to translate business and user needs into well-designed technical solutions. - Apply and advocate for coding standards, best practices, and architectural guidelines, ensuring code is clean, maintainable, well-tested, and secure. - Utilize and integrate supporting technologies such as Google Cloud Platform (GCP), Snowflake, and Confluence to enable scalable infrastructure, data-driven insights, and effective documentation. - Perform code reviews with a strong attention to detail, providing thoughtful feedback that improves quality and supports team learning. - Actively participate in agile ceremonies, contributing ideas to improve team processes, delivery, and technical direction. - Demonstrate initiative and ownership by identifying opportunities for improvement, proposing new tools, patterns, or approaches, and helping drive them to adoption. - Stay current with evolving technologies—especially in AI-enabled development—and show a willingness to learn, experiment, and share knowledge with the team. - Mentor and support other engineers, helping raise the overall technical bar and foster a collaborative, inclusive team culture. Qualifications - 6+ years of professional software engineering experience, with a strong focus on full-stack development. - Proven expertise in building modern web applications using React (including hooks, state management, and component-driven design). - Backend development experience with Node.js, including building scalable services and APIs. - Hands-on experience designing and implementing RESTful APIs and GraphQL schemas and resolvers. - Strong proficiency in JavaScript and modern ES standards. - Experience with CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and deployment best practices. - Familiarity with cloud-based platforms, preferably Google Cloud Platform (GCP). - Experience with data platforms or analytics tools such as Snowflake is a plus. - Strong grasp of software design principles, coding standards, and scalable architecture. - Experience working in agile development environments. - High attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality, maintainable, and well-tested code. - Demonstrated ability to learn and adopt new technologies quickly, including AI-enabled tools and workflows. - Strong collaboration and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively across cross-functional teams. - A proactive, self-directed mindset with a track record of suggesting new ideas, improving processes, and contributing to technical direction. - Experience mentoring other engineers or a willingness to support team growth. • Be a Primary Individual Contributor • Most of your time will be spent designing, building, and shipping production code in Java Spring Boot and Next.js + Zustand (TypeScript). • Own complex features end to end—from data modeling and service logic to API design and frontend integration. • Make pragmatic architectural decisions that balance performance, scalability, and maintainability. • Lead by Example in Code Quality and Design • Consistently model clean code practices, effective design patterns, and thoughtful system design in day-to-day work. • Set the technical bar through high-quality pull requests, tests, and documentation rather than mandates. • Drive improvements through refactoring and incremental architectural enhancements. • Pair, Coach, and Mentor Engineers • Dedicate time each week to pair programming, design reviews, and hands-on problem solving with other engineers. • Coach team members on Spring Boot, TypeScript, API design, and cloud architecture through real work—not abstract guidance. • Provide actionable feedback that helps engineers improve code quality, ownership, and confidence. • Own APIs and Frontend Integration • Design and maintain APIs using OpenAPI specifications, ensuring consistency and usability. • Actively work with frontend engineers to integrate APIs into Next.js applications, addressing performance, error handling, and UX considerations. • Guide API versioning and backward compatibility through practical implementation. • Drive Performance, Reliability, and Delivery • Actively profile, optimize, and scale services and web applications in cloud environments. • Participate directly in on-call rotations, incident response, and root-cause analysis. • Improve CI/CD workflows, observability, and deployment practices through hands-on contributions.
