• Develop a cloud-native Stream Governance platform for Kafka and real-time data, which is a multi-tenant, highly available, and scalable service • Architect a complex engineering system from end to end • Partner across engineering and other key stakeholders to create and execute the overall roadmap for delivering a top-notch Data Streaming Platform for our customers • Evaluate and enhance the efficiency of our platform's technology stack, keeping pace with industry trends and adopting state-of-the-art solutions • Solve complicated technical projects with high quality and provide technical guidance to the team in specialized areas • As a vital member of our team, take responsibility for developing, managing, and maintaining a mission-critical service with a 99.99 SLA running on 90+ AWS, GCP, and Azure regions • Enhance the stability, performance, scalability, and operational excellence across multiple critical systems

• Collaborate with the Apache Kafka community via KIPs, code contributions, reviews, and technical discussions; represent Confluent’s interests while keeping the broader ecosystem in mind. • Drive projects that have high complexity requiring technical acumen, a high level of judgement and able to deal with ambiguity. • Be a force multiplier and show strong ability to mentor and grow the team with guidance on strong design principles and software architecture. • Insist on high standards for the quality of software the team is developing. • Communicate with product management and engineering leaders on the roadmap, understand the specs and the product interfaces. • Drive operational excellence on reliability improvements, operational events and supportability. • Demonstrate strong verbal and written communication skills to influence teams/peers beyond immediate span of control.

• Code, test, debug, document, and ship and maintain software applications using established coding standards and methodologies • Designing and building out API’s that will be consumed by the UI to surface application data. • Partner with product management to drive agile delivery of both existing and new products based on project requirements, UX design, and industry best practices • Ensure new software meets quality standards by writing unit and end-to-end automated tests • Work with product, data, and other stakeholders to analyze usage and product metrics to inform key strategic decisions • Troubleshoot, debug, resolve product issues as they arise • Work cross functionally to resolve complex partner problems • Ensure platform and services meet SLA requirements; on call rotation for production issues, along with the rest of engineering

• Build and manage GCP infrastructure across core services including Compute, networking, IAM, storage, and GKE. • Support and execute migrations from on-premises or multi-cloud environments into GCP, including lift-and-shift and replatforming strategies. • Implement and maintain infrastructure using Terraform to ensure repeatable, scalable, and production-ready deployments. • Troubleshoot infrastructure and application performance issues while identifying opportunities to improve reliability, efficiency, and cloud cost management. • Partner with engineering, DevOps, and client stakeholders to ensure successful delivery across the full project lifecycle.
