• Develop features using algorithms that work optimally on very large data sets. These features would run on our backend systems that can handle enormous amounts of customer data, operate with high tolerance for errors, and can scale up as needed. These systems are responsible for managing and processing petabytes of data. • Act as a team lead in the team. • Write robust & re-usable code. • Own a small set of microservices, analyze and improve the efficiency, scalability,reliability and cost for the same. • Act as a primary on-call for owned services, responding to service degradations in a timely manner. • Design and implement extremely high-volume, fault-tolerant, scalable backend systems that process and manage petabytes of customer data. • Analyze and improve the efficiency, scalability, and reliability of our backend systems. • Write robust code; demonstrate its robustness through automated tests.
Job Requirements
- B.Tech/ M.Tech/ BSc or MSc in Computer Science or a related discipline.
- 7-9 years of industry experience with a proven track record of ownership.
- Object-oriented experience, for example in Java, Scala, Ruby, or C++.
- Experience in building backend services for handling data at large scale.
- Understanding the performance characteristics of commonly used data structures (maps, lists, trees, etc).
- Desire to learn Scala, an up-and-coming JVM language (scala-lang.org).

We are seeking a highly analytical and experienced Senior Data Engineer to help optimize production forecasting and operations scheduling within the petroleum engineering domain. You’ll bridge the gap between complex mathematical models (reservoir dynamics, optimization, logistics) and robust, cloud-scale data systems. This role requires a unique combination of deep Python expertise, mastery of modern data processing and API frameworks, and a strong foundational understanding of mathematics, reasoning, and petroleum engineering principles. Responsibilities Data Architecture & Engineering - Design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines for ingesting, transforming, and validating time-series data related to well performance, sensor readings, and operational logs. - Develop robust, high-performance data models using PyArrow and Pandas for efficient analysis and transfer. - Implement data quality and schema validation using Pydantic to ensure data integrity across all stages of the pipeline. - Manage and optimize data storage and retrieval in MongoDB, and integrate with cloud-native platforms like GCP BigQuery or Snowflake where applicable.
