Role Description Virtual Virginia (VVA) seeks a Virginia-certified part-time instructor of Social Studies/History. The position requires working with curriculum in the Canvas Learning Management System (LMS), conducting regular live sessions with students, holding regular office hours, and maintaining open communication with parents, schools, students, and VVA administrators. - Teach assigned courses in the endorsement area. - Communicate regularly with students, schools, and families. - Work with VVA administration to revise curriculum as needed. - Follow all policies outlined in the Virtual Virginia Teacher Handbook and by VVA administration. - Maintain student records in compliance with VVA policies and procedures. Qualifications - Bachelor's degree (B.A.) from a four-year college or university. - Certification from the Commonwealth of Virginia in the relevant subject area. - Experience working in an online educational environment is preferred. - Experience with the Canvas Learning Management system preferred, but not required. - The applicant will have to complete a three-week teacher training course upon acceptance of the position if they have not already done so. - Fluent in English. - Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints in a manner consistent with VVA policies and guidelines. - Ability to work with mathematical concepts and to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations. Requirements - Valid Virginia teacher's license with an endorsement in the appropriate area. - Completion of Teaching With Virtual Virginia course or agreement to complete during the next training cycle. • Own the end-to-end execution of one or more Security Products workstreams, translating strategy and customer needs into clear requirements, sequencing, and shippable increments. • Serve as the technical product owner for your scope by maintaining a healthy backlog, writing high-quality user stories and acceptance criteria, and keeping engineering unblocked through fast decisions and clear tradeoffs. • Partner deeply with engineering leadership to drive delivery planning, estimates, dependency management, and release readiness, with a focus on predictable outcomes and minimal rework. • Collaborate with UX and UI to design simple security experiences in the DigitalOcean console and API, then convert designs into actionable requirements, workflows, and instrumentation needs. • Work cross-functionally across Security, IAM, Networking, Support, Billing, and service teams to ensure integrated customer journeys, clear ownership boundaries, and clean remediation paths. • Define and maintain release criteria for your scope, including quality bars, rollout approach, customer readiness inputs, and internal enablement requirements. • Produce clear written narratives and launch assets that explain customer value, expected behavior, and operational considerations, in partnership with Corporate Communications, Product Marketing, and Developer Relations. • Create and maintain reusable templates, checklists, and stakeholder workflows that make product launches and customer updates consistent and low-friction. • Help align incident response communications by maintaining customer-facing update templates, coordinating stakeholder workflows, and ensuring product and incident messaging remains accurate and timely during high-priority events. • Use customer feedback, product data, and operational learnings to iterate quickly, reduce friction, and improve the effectiveness of Security Products over time.

• Design and develop real-time security detection engines using Apache Flink and Kafka for threat detection at cloud scale • Build high-performance security APIs and microservices using Go and JavaScript/Node.js • Implement streaming analytics for security event correlation, anomaly detection, and threat intelligence • Architect and implement security solutions running on Kubernetes at hyperscale • Develop security data pipelines processing petabytes of logs, network traffic, and telemetry data • Lead technical design for complex security platform features from conception to production • Collaborate with security researchers, threat analysts, and cloud platform teams • Mentor junior engineers on security engineering best practices and cloud-native development

• Design, develop, and deploy resilient services and tooling that provide security capabilities at scale • Research and design automated approaches to detecting and actioning abuse • Work with product and engineering teams to design secure architectures • Design and build internal tools for Security Operations Center • Measure the efficacy of services and tools to drive reporting and decision-making
