AI Developer III
Policy Reporter
Role Description We are looking for a self-directed, result driven candidate who is ready to experiment with finding solutions for difficult problems, appreciates challenges, is not afraid of asking questions, and enjoys working with others. This position focuses on leveraging AI technologies to analyze complex healthcare policy documents and providing performant and scalable solutions for data extraction. Role & Responsibilities - Work with data scientists and other developers to design, implement, integrate and deploy ML systems. - Work closely and professionally with different stakeholders on projects, adhere to project timelines and deliver solutions on time. - Identify opportunities for development of new data extraction pipelines or improvement in existing pipelines. - Serve as project technical lead as needed, collaborate with teams outside of Engineering to ensure that all stakeholders understand project goals, requirements and realistic timelines. - Follow software development best practices and provide technical leadership to the team, including but not limited to: - Programming, code reviews, test, deployment - Mentorship on software development best practices and latest technologies - Keep updated with the latest AI technologies in ML/NLP/LLM and write production-level code to apply document understanding algorithms/models developed internally and from the community to solve our business problems. - Contribute to projects, adhere to project timelines and deliver solutions on time. - Assist with technical incidents by participating in troubleshooting and problem-solving activities, post-incident discussions/analysis, precaution implementation, etc. - Assist as needed with technical reviews of code samples and in technical interviews. Qualifications - 5+ years of software development experience, and 2+ years with machine learning/natural language processing/large language models. - Bachelor’s degree in computer science/engineering discipline or equivalent experience. - Strong programming skills in Python, SQL. - Proven expertise in LLMs or other modern ML tools, such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, etc. - Excellent debugging, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills. - Knows how to structure applications for long term maintenance and ongoing flexibility, familiar with SOLID design principles. - Skills in independently designing distributed and scalable systems. Understands common architecture technologies such as message queue. - Experience working with cloud technology stack (e.g. AWS). - Experience defining and implementing APIs with other teams. - Database experience such as PostgreSQL. - Great communication skills (written and verbal) and be a fast learner. - Experience communicating directly with customers to synthesize their requirements and align it with business goals. Requirements - Nice to have: - Expertise in document understanding, information retrieval, PDF parsing, or a related domain. - Experience in leading projects/teams. - Experience in LLM agentic design patterns. - Knowledge of the medical insurance industry and the ability to speak directly to medical professionals.
