The Tax Training Content Developer designs general and specific tax training in accordance with continuing professional education (CPE) compliance standards established by the IRS, NASBA, CTEC, and other tax curriculum provider regulatory agencies. As a Training Developer, you’ll ensure all content is developed using instructional design methodologies applicable to course books, computer-based training, case studies, and job aids. Day to day, you’ll… - Design, develop, and deliver effective synchronous and asynchronous training at a basic, intermediate, or advanced level in an adult learning environment - Select appropriate instructional delivery methods for intended learning objectives by partnering with business teams and field associates to identify training needs - Conduct training needs assessments and job/task analysis to support ongoing development and improvement of training courses to include but not limited to tax software, compliance with tax law changes, and company policies and procedures - Write exam prep courses, exams, and other assessments - Edit and proofread materials developed by others, verifying accuracy, completeness, organization, grammar, formatting, and style - Participate in various management and operational meetings to better understand key business initiatives and develop training to support these initiatives - Collaborate in the development and production of video and multimedia programs to meet training and communication objectives What you'll bring to the team... - Bachelor’s degree in Business, English, Education, Government or related field; or the equivalent through combination of education and work experience - Enrolled Agent, Certified Public Accountant or Attorney status (credentials regulated under Circular 230) - At least three years’ experience in course design and development of training programs and/or two years in tax return preparation, adult education or related field(s) - Solid knowledge of tax code and regulations. Experience with tax theory, concepts, principles, and techniques - Demonstrated knowledge of adult learning theory and learning styles - Strong analytical skills, effective facilitation, and presentation skills - Effective oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
