Job Description

Software Engineering Manager

auxi

• Lead, mentor, and manage a distributed engineering team across US and international time zones, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement. • Partner closely with the CEO and Product Manager to translate business goals into clear, executable technical plans and sprint deliverables. • Own the full software development lifecycle — from planning and architecture to deployment and post-launch optimization. • Define and enforce coding standards, best practices, and architectural guidelines across the team to ensure high-quality, maintainable code. • Plan and manage sprint cycles using JIRA, coordinating task allocation, tracking progress, and removing blockers to keep delivery on schedule. • Oversee the team's use of GitHub for version control, code reviews, and CI/CD workflows, ensuring clean branching strategies and robust review processes. • Ensure all production systems are performant, reliable, and resource-efficient — actively monitoring and optimizing for cost, speed, and scalability. • Lead and contribute to the development, fine-tuning, and deployment of Generative AI models, working hands-on with LLMs and ML pipelines. • Continuously evaluate and adopt emerging technologies, frameworks, and AI advancements to keep auxi.ai's platform modern and competitive. • Coordinate cross-functional dependencies between engineering, product, and business stakeholders to ensure smooth execution. • Drive a culture of technical excellence, knowledge sharing, and innovation within the engineering organization.

Job Requirements

  • 7+ years of software engineering experience, with at least 3 years in an engineering management or tech lead role.
  • Proven experience working in fast-paced, high-growth startup/tech or B2B SaaS environments.
  • Strong proficiency in C# / .NET and Python; ability to review code and provide meaningful technical guidance in both languages.
  • Hands-on experience with cloud platforms — Microsoft Azure or AWS (or both); familiarity with cloud-native architectures, services, and cost optimization.
  • Experience with Generative AI, including working with LLMs, model training, fine-tuning, and deploying AI-powered features in production.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage and lead distributed, international teams effectively across time zones and cultures.
  • Expertise in Agile/Scrum methodologies; hands-on experience managing sprints and backlogs in JIRA.
  • Strong command of GitHub workflows including branching strategies, pull request reviews, and CI/CD pipeline management.
  • Track record of building and maintaining highly performant, resource-efficient production systems.
  • A proactive mindset toward technology adoption — you stay current with the latest tools, frameworks, and AI research and bring those insights to the team.
  • Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills; able to translate technical concepts to non-technical leadership.

Benefits

  • Health benefits
  • Professional development budget and access to the latest AI tools and research
