• Architect and design scalable, secure, and highly available cloud solutions on AWS, using best practices in DevOps and cloud-native design. • Implement infrastructure as code (IaC) using tools like CloudFormation or Terraform to enable efficient and consistent deployments. • Work collaboratively with fourTheorem colleagues and our customers to understand business goals, incrementally deliver new technology to meet those goals, reduce complexity and demonstrate the impact of our approach. • Automate the deployment, configuration, and management of infrastructure and services using CI/CD pipelines and tools such as GitHub Actions. • Collaborate with development and operations teams to define and implement strategies for monitoring, logging, and alerting tools such as Amazon CloudWatch or third-party solutions. • Optimise applications for cost, performance, and security and work with clients on best practices for infrastructure, data, and application deployment. • Mentor and guide teams on AWS architecture patterns, DevOps methodologies, and operational best practices. • Evaluate and integrate third-party tools and services into applications to enhance automation, performance, and security.

Job Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience building and/or architecting distributed applications on AWS.
  • Software development skills with a focus on cloud applications.
  • An understanding of the benefits and drawbacks of any approach, with the ability to make trade-offs to ensure that a solution is right for the customer.
  • Strong proficiency in AWS services such as ECS, Lambda, EC2, API Gateway, IAM, or S3.
  • Hands-on experience with automation and IaC tools like Terraform, CloudFormation, or CDK.
  • Proficiency in building and managing CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions or similar tools.
  • Familiarity with monitoring and logging tools such as DataDog, Prometheus, Grafana, ELK Stack, or AWS CloudWatch.
  • Proven ability to architect solutions that meet business and technical requirements while balancing performance, scalability, and cost.
  • Communication skills, with a focus on listening and understanding first, but also presenting high-level solutions and implementation details to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

About the Role We are seeking a Cloud Platform Team Lead to lead the development and operation of the infrastructure and platform systems that power our engineering organization.
