• Form, communicate, and execute on a technical vision for the next generation of OpenSea’s architecture that leverages highly scalable and event-driven patterns • Write reliable, low latency marketplace infrastructure software that will eventually process billions of dollars a day worth of transaction volume, including highly performant blockchain indexing systems, order management systems at scale, and REST & Websocket API endpoints • Raise the bar for internal understanding of best practices in building highly performant & event-driven systems with “live” characteristics • Mentor and train other team members and act as an internal thought leader and agitator for architectural rigor and cleanliness

• Design and build scalable services and APIs to drive existing and new features for web applications. • Architect and maintain robust backend systems, database models, and infrastructure that power our platform. • Analyze product requirements and produce high-quality, production-ready code with a focus on system reliability and performance. • Maintain the health of our systems and codebase, refactor and make improvements, and keep our systems robust and resilient. • Jump into frontend code when needed to support the team and ship features end-to-end. • Be autonomous. You'll take full ownership of your work, and you take responsibility and accountability for every last detail, every step of the way. • Be a collaborator. You'll work with other engineers and cross-functional partners in product and design to build a world-class product and lead new initiatives to improve our user experience. • Write clear specs to ensure product/code quality for stress-free deployment. • Drive large releases to production on a continuous deployment cadence.

• Develop and stand up robust backend services and APIs that power our data platform • Transition from simple scripts to production-grade software with logging, alerting, and automated testing • Evaluate and implement new frameworks that improve system reliability and developer velocity • Collaborate with analysts, software engineers and infrastructure teams to ensure data services are fast, secure, and easy to consume • Deliver high-quality code, conduct thorough code reviews, and guide peers in SDLC best practices
