• Form, communicate, and execute on a technical vision for the next generation of OpenSea’s architecture that leverages highly scalable and event-driven patterns • Write reliable, low latency marketplace infrastructure software that will eventually process billions of dollars a day worth of transaction volume, including highly performant blockchain indexing systems, order management systems at scale, and REST & Websocket API endpoints • Raise the bar for internal understanding of best practices in building highly performant & event-driven systems with “live” characteristics • Mentor and train other team members and act as an internal thought leader and agitator for architectural rigor and cleanliness
• Own and evolve OpenSea’s OFAC sanctions and counter-illicit finance compliance program, including wallet screening, alert management, and enforcement of controls • Interpret and advise on changes to sanctions regimes. • Work with our compliance investigator to investigate and adjudicate edge cases, making disposition decisions on whether to block, escalate, or clear activity • Execute annual risk assessments and country risk assessments • Prepare and deliver quarterly compliance reporting to senior leadership • Lead GDPR and other privacy and data regulatory frameworks (including CCPA/CPRA) • Support product teams with privacy risk analysis for new features and integrations • Support contract negotiation as capacity allows in a collaborative, team-oriented environment • Track legislative and regulatory developments and flag implications for the business • Provide input on important submissions and regulatory filings • Think about legal and regulatory risk holistically as part of a nimble team
