Insurance Billing/Collections Assistant II – Program in Physical Therapy

• Complete insurance verification • Examination and tracking of insurance authorizations • Validation of referral record accuracy • Enter demographic and insurance/referral information into patient medical record • Perform varied professional services to ensure therapy services are reviewed and completed efficiently • Ensure maximum reimbursement with all payers by securing necessary authorizations • Complete insurance verifications and updates in Epic EMR database • Perform specialized duties with minimal supervision • Copying and faxing medical records as required • Contact necessary insurance companies for benefit verification and pre-certification of therapy procedures • Notify coding staff for missing or inaccurate coded services • Work with referring physician offices to provide updated orders • Verify ICD-10 diagnosis application with review of Epic database for follow-up visits • Collect data for internal/external requests • Attend applicable meetings and report results • Maintain open communication with providers and referring physicians • Maintain log of pre-certifications in process • Document and notify necessary parties of pre-certification when received • Review, follow-up, and reconciliation of pre-arrival, patient, and financial work queues

Job Requirements
