• Architect Robust Pipelines: Design, build, and optimize scalable data pipelines using Airflow, Python, dbt, and Snowflake. You will replace brittle manual processes with resilient, automated workflows. • Build Infrastructure as Code: Manage and evolve our cloud infrastructure (AWS/GCP) using Terraform, ensuring our platform is reproducible, secure, and scalable. • Elevate Code Quality: Write clean, production-grade code for complex data processing. You will champion engineering best practices, including code reviews, testing, and CI/CD. • Optimize Data Models: Collaborate with analysts to design performant SQL transformations and data models in Snowflake (experience with dbt is a huge plus). • Ensure Data Reliability: Implement observability and monitoring to catch issues before they impact stakeholders. You are the first line of defense for data quality. • Partner Cross-Functionally: Work closely with Data Analysts and Product Managers to understand their data needs and deliver high-quality data products that empower decision-making.

Job Requirements

  • Strong Python Proficiency: You are comfortable writing modular, testable, and efficient Python code for data processing and automation.
  • Advanced SQL & Snowflake: You have deep expertise in SQL and cloud data warehousing (Snowflake preferred), understanding how to optimize queries for performance and cost.
  • Orchestration Mastery: Proven experience building and maintaining complex workflows using Airflow (or similar tools).
  • Infrastructure Mindset: Familiarity with Terraform and cloud services (AWS or GCP). You understand how to provision and manage the resources your pipelines run on.
  • Security & Stewardship: You understand the gravity of handling sensitive medical data. You are experienced in properly handling PHI and PII, implementing secure access controls (RBAC), and adhering to strict governance standards.
  • Startup DNA: You are a self-starter who is comfortable with ambiguity. You take ownership of problems and are willing to wear many hats to get the job done.
  • Communication Skills: You can translate complex technical challenges into clear options for non-technical stakeholders.

Role Description The Data Engineer will design, build, and optimize modern data solutions using Microsoft Fabric. In this role, you will work closely with analytics, BI, and business teams to deliver scalable, secure, and high-performance data platforms that turn raw data into actionable insights. This position bridges business requirements and technical execution by translating data needs into scalable, secure, and high-quality analytics assets. The role combines hands-on development with cross-functional collaboration to ensure analytics solutions are reliable, governed, and aligned with business priorities. Essential Job Functions - Design, develop, and maintain end-to-end data pipelines using Microsoft Fabric (including Power BI, OneLake, semantic models, and data pipelines). - Build and maintain data models including relational, dimensional, star, and snowflake schemas. - Ingest, transform, and orchestrate data from multiple sources (SQL, APIs, SaaS applications, streaming sources). - Optimize data models and queries for performance, reliability, and cost efficiency. - Create dashboards, reports, scorecards, and visualizations for operational and executive audiences. - Collaborate with BI developers and analysts to support Power BI semantic models and reporting. - Administer and support enterprise Fabric environments, including workspace design, security, and lifecycle management. - Establish and enforce analytics standards and best practices within the Fabric ecosystem. - Conduct regular data profiling and quality assessments. - Partner with business stakeholders to gather, document, recommend, and refine analytics requirements. - Translate business questions into actionable data solutions. - Prepare process flows, data flow diagrams, and technical documentation. - Support metadata management, lineage, data security, and governance controls. - Automate deployments and data workflows using CI/CD pipelines. - Document data architecture, pipelines, and operational processes. - Contribute to project planning, scope definition, and milestone tracking. - Communicate progress, risks, and dependencies to technical and business stakeholders. - Respond to analytics-related user issues in alignment with service expectations. - Stay current with Microsoft Fabric updates and recommend improvements. - Other duties as assigned.
