Job Description We are looking for a Senior Front-End Developer to join our team and take ownership of building and maintaining high-quality web applications. This role focuses on modern JavaScript development, with an emphasis on performance, scalability, and clean architecture. You will work on evolving an existing codebase, improving reliability, resolving issues, and delivering new features that integrate with modern APIs and services. Responsibilities - Develop, maintain, and optimize front-end applications and shared UI systems using React, JavaScript/TypeScript, and modern browser APIs. - Build scalable, reusable, and high-performance React components for a large component library used across multiple products and teams. - Ensure all components and patterns meet accessibility standards and support inclusive user experiences, including compliance with WCAG and ARIA best practices. - Design and implement composable APIs, theming, and extensible architecture for shared UI components. - Collaborate closely with Product Managers, Designers, and Engineers to translate design systems and product requirements into robust, accessible React components. - Improve consistency, usability, and maintainability across the component library and consuming applications. - Debug and resolve complex production issues related to rendering, state management, performance, accessibility, and cross-browser behavior. - Apply best practices in code quality, testing, documentation, maintainability, and developer experience. - Write and maintain unit, integration, and accessibility tests for components and front-end features. - Contribute to architectural decisions, front-end standards, and the technical direction of the component platform. - Continuously improve development workflows, tooling, CI/CD, and engineering standards for front-end development. Qualifications Qualifications - 5+ years of experience in front-end development, with strong expertise in React and JavaScript (ES6+). - Strong experience building and maintaining reusable component libraries or design system infrastructure. - Deep understanding of HTML, CSS, browser internals, and modern front-end architecture. - Solid understanding of React concepts including hooks, component composition, state management, and rendering performance. - Proven experience implementing accessible UI components with knowledge of WCAG, WAI-ARIA, keyboard navigation, focus management, and semantic HTML. - Strong experience working with APIs and handling complex client-side data flows. - Solid knowledge of asynchronous programming and event-driven systems. - Experience with modern development tools such as build systems, linters, testing frameworks, and component documentation tools. - Ability to work effectively in large, evolving, or legacy front-end codebases. - Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments. - Strong ownership mindset, problem-solving skills, and attention to detail. - Good communication skills and the ability to collaborate across design, product, and engineering teams. Nice to Have - Experience with accessibility testing tools and practices. - Experience with Storybook or similar component development/documentation tools. - Experience working with legacy front-end frameworks such as Backbone.js. - Basic backend knowledge, including APIs and microservices. - Basic experience with cloud platforms such as AWS or GCP.
