The Vice President will be responsible for closely supporting the Client Relationship Leader to drive interwoven programs focused on supporting clients R&D business, which may include: corporate communications, scientific communications and data milestones, digital and social strategy, internal communications, executive visibility and thought leadership. Responsibilities: - Manage all facets of a multidimensional, interwoven team and provide sound, strategic counsel to ensure progress, action and results; keep senior leadership informed and bring them in when necessary to maintain high-quality service and execution - Develop thorough knowledge of client industry landscape, scientific approach and business objectives as to identify strategic opportunities - Partner with subject matter experts (content strategy, social, earned media) team to develop strategic programs that meet client goals - Lead teams in executing patient-centric client events including strategic planning, material development, coordinating with client cross-functional teams and overseeing logistics - Work with senior leadership to expand strategic thinking and identify growth opportunities - Review wide-array of complex, strategic scientific communications materials and other deliverables (e.g., corporate/product narratives, messages and Q&As, results reports, leader talking points, scientific animation video scripts, owned and sponsored articles) - Take the lead on plans and high-level deliverables (e.g., yearly planning) - Participate and actively contribute to all-agency/IAT meetings, as appropriate and as the face of Spectrum - Manage account financials including staffing and projections, budget tracking and monthly billing packages to ensure team is on trend; liaise with client on budget recommendations - Ensure team meets deadlines, manages priorities and effectively communicates to both internal and external stakeholders - Supervise junior staff and play an active role in their professional development; identify and champion both account-specific and agency-wide visibility opportunities for self and team members - Contribute to new business opportunities Qualifications: - A Bachelor’s Degree in communications, English or similar major - At least 8-10 years agency experience, including experience in healthcare and science communications/public relations - Experience supporting pipeline communications for biotech/pharma clients, or similar high-science communications experience preferred - Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office (Outlook, PowerPoint, Word, etc.) and familiarity with media tools (e.g., Cision, Bloomberg Terminal, HootSuite) - Be able to manage multiple projects and/or accounts simultaneously, demonstrate adaptability to new information and shifting priorities - An extreme attention to detail - Professional demeanor and pride in work product - Ability to excel in a team environment as well as work independently - Resourceful and effective problem solver with strong sense of urgency, proactivity and critical thinking skills - Client-service oriented mindset - Excellent written and verbal communication skills - Proven ability to receive and deliver feedback on performance - An ability to effectively manage, mobilize and mentor teams The anticipated salary range for this position will be $140,000-$170,000. Salary is based on job-related factors such as: years of relevant experience, qualifications and/or certifications. Spectrum reserves the right to modify this pay range at any given time.
