Freight Sales Manager
DFDS
• Spend approximately 80% of your time visiting customers in the region. • Maintain and strengthen the existing customer portfolio. • Identify, approach, and onboard new customers to increase regional revenue. • Develop, implement, and execute commercial strategies aligned with market needs. • Represent DFDS and promote our logistics services to key industry stakeholders. • Provide weekly reports to the Freight Sales General Manager.
Job Requirements
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience in freight sales and logistics.
- Solid background in B2B commercial roles.
- Ideally, experience in Ro-Pax/Ro-Ro operations or maritime logistics.
- Strong understanding of Ro-Ro and Ro-Pax shipping, sales techniques, and the freight market in North-west Spain & Portugal.
- Familiarity with short sea shipping and regional logistics flows.
- Deep knowledge of Ro-Pax and Ro-Ro operations (trailers, MAFIs, industrial/special vehicles).
- Ability to analyze rolling cargo markets, logistics flows, and business optimization opportunities.
- Strong network among logistics operators, freight forwarders, and transport companies.
- Consultative sales skills and experience negotiating complex commercial agreements.
- Strategic thinker with a results-driven mindset.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities.
- Languages: Spanish, Portuguese, and English (required).

This role supports business development with travel agencies and partners, and is a great opportunity for someone looking to transition into the supplier side of travel. You don’t need to have deep experience in the travel trade—we’re looking for someone who is eager to learn, takes initiative, and is motivated to grow in a fast-paced, advisor-facing role. Over time, you’ll build an understanding of the U.S. travel advisor landscape and play a key role in helping grow a channel that is expanding 30%+ year over year. This is a remote role that works closely with our trade marketing, delivery, and product teams. ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES - Sales and Travel Advisor support - Nurture strong relationships with both first-time and returning advisors - Provide expert guidance on our brand, product portfolio, and the destinations we serve - Assist with booking, modifying, and managing orders efficiently - Client value maximization: Identify opportunities to upsell and cross-sell thoughtfully, maintaining warmth and discretion - Ensure accurate and timely transfer of essential client information to fulfillment teams, partners, and on-the-ground guides - Business Development support - Collects and raises roadblocks as needed - Assists in agency and advisor registration - Assist with advisor toolkit management - Help track KPIs - Participates meaningfully in team meetings - Joins project working groups or task forces - Works cross-functionally - Consults in quarterly and annual planning - Proactively identify and escalate advisor and client pain points, collaborating across teams to continuously improve processes and service Requirements - Highly organized and comfortable working with a fast paced environment - Proactive and able to take initiative in a supportive team environment - Eligibility to work in the US during Eastern office hours - Basic understanding of the travel agency market in the U.S., including host agencies and consortia, preferred - Relationships with travel advisors a plus Preferred systems experience: - Google (Sheets, Docs, Slides, Meet, Gmail) - HubSpot - Front - Slack - Zoom - Guru - Basecamp WHAT YOU’LL BRING - Demonstrated autonomous ownership: can triage, decide, and close loops without heavy supervision.
