• Define and own the overarching organic growth strategy spanning SEO, ASO, GEO, and Extension Store optimization. Set quarterly and annual OKRs tied to impressions, clicks, MAU, installs, and sales. • Manage, mentor, and develop the SEO & Organic Growth team. Foster a culture of experimentation, accountability, and continuous learning. Identify and hire for key capability gaps as needed. • Build and maintain a prioritized organic growth roadmap. Balance quick wins with longer-term strategic bets. Present plans and progress to senior leadership, including the CEO. • Serve as the organic growth voice in cross-functional planning with AI, Product, Engineering, Content, Brand, Marketing Operations, and International Expansion teams. Ensure organic considerations are embedded in product launches, site architecture decisions, and content strategy. • Act as a key influencer of the Product roadmap by surfacing organic growth opportunities, user intent data, and search landscape insights that shape feature prioritization, new product bets, and go-to-market timing. • Own end-to-end SEO performance across QuillBot’s web properties. Drive strategy across on-page, off-page, and technical SEO to secure and defend top positions for high-value keywords. • Lead technical audits and partner with Engineering to resolve crawlability, indexation, Core Web Vitals, site speed, structured data, and mobile-responsiveness issues at scale. • Oversee keyword research, content gap analysis, and on-page optimization. Collaborate with the Content team to ensure every page is strategically targeted and continuously improved. • Direct link-building and digital PR strategies to grow domain authority. Evaluate backlink quality and build partnerships with authoritative sites. • Monitor Google algorithm updates, diagnose ranking fluctuations, and quickly adapt strategies to protect and grow organic traffic. • Develop and execute a strategy to maximize QuillBot’s visibility in AI-generated answers and citations across generative search experiences (e.g., Google AI Overviews, ChatGPT, etc). • Work with Content and Product to structure information, schema markup, and authoritative content so that generative engines accurately surface and recommend QuillBot. • Define GEO-specific metrics, build tracking frameworks, and run experiments to understand how generative surfaces drive traffic and conversions. • Monitor how competitors are cited in generative answers and identify opportunities to increase QuillBot’s share of voice. • Own QuillBot’s organic discoverability and conversion rates in the Apple App Store and Google Play Store. • Optimize app titles, subtitles, descriptions, keywords, screenshots, and preview videos to improve search rankings and download conversion rates. • Develop strategies to increase the volume and quality of positive ratings and reviews, and work with Product to address recurring user feedback themes. • Design and run store listing experiments to continuously improve conversion. Leverage tools like Google Play Experiments and third-party ASO platforms. • Partner with the International Expansion team to localize and optimize listings for priority markets. • Own QuillBot’s presence and discoverability in the Chrome Web Store, Safari Extensions Gallery, Microsoft Edge Add-ons, and Firefox Add-ons. • Optimize extension titles, descriptions, screenshots, and feature graphics. Improve install conversion rates through iterative testing. • Drive rating volume and quality for extensions. Coordinate with Product and Support to address negative feedback and reduce churn. • Align extension store strategy with SEO and ASO efforts to create a unified organic discovery experience across web, app, and extension surfaces. • Build and maintain dashboards tracking organic performance across all channels (SEO, ASO, GEO, Extension Stores). Define KPIs and ensure the team is data-driven in decision-making. • Deliver regular performance updates and strategic insights to senior leadership. Translate complex organic data into clear narratives with actionable recommendations. • Evaluate and manage the organic growth tool stack (e.g., Google Analytics, Google Search Console, SEMrush, Ahrefs, Sensor Tower, Screaming Frog, etc).
Job Requirements
- 8–10 years of progressive experience in SEO and/or organic growth, with at least 3 years in a people-management role.
- Global experience: demonstrated ability to drive organic growth across multiple markets, regions, and languages—not limited to English-speaking audiences.
- Demonstrated success managing organic growth for a high-traffic website (+20M monthly active users) and a consumer app with significant install volume.
- Proven track record of securing and defending #1 positions for competitive keywords
- Proven ability to build organic visibility from zero for new product launches in highly competitive markets — taking a product from no search presence to top-ranking positions against established incumbents.
- Deep expertise across on-page, off-page, and technical SEO, with a strong grasp of how search engines crawl, index, and rank content.
- Hands-on experience with ASO for iOS and/or Android apps, including keyword optimization, listing experiments, and review management.
- Strong understanding of the generative AI search landscape and emerging GEO best practices.
- Proficiency with industry tools: Google Analytics, Google Search Console, SEMrush, Ahrefs, Screaming Frog, and at least one ASO platform (preferably Sensor Tower).
- Experience working with CMS platforms (e.g., WordPress) and comfort with basic HTML/CSS.
- Excellent communicator who can present data-driven strategies to senior leadership, including C-level stakeholders.
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, Communications, or a related field.
