Compliance Analyst
Hometap
• Conduct compliance monitoring and testing on Hometap's Home Equity Investment (HEI) product and processes to ensure we meet regulatory requirements and internal policies • Summarize monitoring and testing results for management, including trend analysis and remediation tracking • Help manage consumer complaints by performing root cause analysis, recommending process improvements, tracking remediation, and ensuring responses meet regulatory deadlines and quality standards • Monitor risk indicators like QC results, compliance testing, and complaint data to identify potential control gaps and support remediation efforts • Partner with business teams to advise on new product offerings and features, ensuring compliance with current and proposed regulations • Participate in risk assessments, including control testing and remediation validation • Review marketing materials and homeowner-facing scripts for compliance with applicable regulations, including UDAAP • Stay current on federal, state, and local regulations relevant to home equity investments, such as Regulation Z (TILA), Regulation V (FCRA), Regulation B (ECOA), UDAAP, the Fair Housing Act, and Interagency Guidance on TPRM • Develop and deliver compliance training and communications for employees as needed • Keep up with the broader regulatory environment, industry standards, and best practices for financial institutions
Job Requirements
- 3+ years of compliance experience in a financial institution, ideally with fintech or complaint management background
- Experience conducting first or second line of defense control testing
- Working knowledge of consumer lending or mortgage regulations, particularly UDAAP, Interagency Guidance on TPRM, Regulation Z (TILA), Regulation V (FCRA), and Regulation B (ECOA)
- Ability to build strong working relationships and partner effectively across all levels of the organization
- Strong analytical and conceptual thinking skills, with the ability to interpret regulations and turn them into actionable steps
- Comfortable working independently in a fast-changing environment as the business and regulatory landscape evolves
- Customer-service mindset with experience collaborating across teams
- High personal and professional integrity

- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
