Job Description

Senior Construction Project Manager

CHS Inc.

• Lead the planning, development, and execution of multiple capital construction projects simultaneously. • Develop, review, and manage approved project scopes, schedules, cost estimates, and budgets. • Coordinate contractor bidding, selection, and contract execution. • Maintain accurate construction records and databases for active and completed projects. • Conduct inspections and oversee construction activities to ensure work meets approved plans, specifications, and quality standards. • Monitor job sites to ensure safe construction practices are followed. • Work aligns with project schedules. • Contractors meet contractual scope and quality requirements. • Manage change orders and resolve construction issues to minimize schedule and cost impacts. • Ensure projects comply with CHS standards, local building codes, and regulatory requirements. • Coordinate contracts with contractors, suppliers, and service providers. • Develop and maintain strategic supplier and contractor relationships. • Negotiate pricing, equipment discounts, and service terms.

Job Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED.
  • 7+ years of experience in construction or agricultural industries with demonstrated project leadership responsibility.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Structural, or Mechanical Engineering, or Construction Management.
  • Strong knowledge of construction processes, materials, and equipment used in commercial and industrial facilities.
  • Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously with complex stakeholder groups.
  • Understanding of OSHA 1910, OSHA 1926, and NFPA standards.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and CAD software.
  • Strong communication, problem-solving, negotiation, and organizational skills.
  • OSHA 20-hour certification.
  • Experience in grain, agronomy, energy, or manufacturing facility construction.
  • Prior experience as an engineer, architect, or construction manager in large, multi-site operations.
  • PMP Certification preferred.
