Forward Deployed Software Engineer
A:20Labs
• Build customer-specific software solutions • Design, develop, and maintain backend services using Python and FastAPI • Implement REST APIs and microservices supporting AI-driven engineering workflows • Extend existing platform applications with customer-specific integrations and services • Implement background workers, data processing pipelines, and model inference integrations • Design system architectures and technical solutions that integrate customer environments with the platform • Translate complex engineering workflows into robust, scalable software systems • Deploy and operate services using Docker and Kubernetes • Work directly with customers to understand technical workflows and constraints • Rapidly iterate on solutions based on real-world usage and feedback
Job Requirements
- 6+ years of professional experience in software engineering
- Strong proficiency in Python with experience building backend systems
- Experience developing REST APIs and microservices (FastAPI or similar frameworks)
- Strong understanding of system design, software architecture, and scalable backend systems
- Experience deploying and operating applications in cloud environments (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
- Hands-on experience with Docker and Kubernetes
- Experience integrating services into complex distributed systems
- Experience working in customer-facing or delivery-oriented engineering roles
- Excellent communication skills and fluent English.
- US citizenship required

• Provide support to engineering projects from start to finish ensuring compliance with company practices and procedures, as well as industry standards. • Develop complex mechanical designs relating to power switchgear, electrical bus, substations, and other electromechanical components within the electric power system. • Coordinate with customers and engineers to satisfy design requirements. • Design complex models in 3D modeling environments. • Create assembly drawings from 3D renderings. • Lead efforts in the field to take measurements for design modifications and installations. • Perform reverse-engineering of equipment and components. • Design parts with specification for manufacture. • Learn/perform calculations relative to forces on bus and bracing. • Assist with installation of equipment on job site or provide remote support. • Read and understand technical requirements presented in specifications and requests for proposal. • Take the lead in the development of GAP and junior level mechanical engineers. • Answers questions and provides support to CE Power’s other locations. • Assist management in recruitment efforts and provide feedback for performance evaluations. • Participates in weekly Production Meetings. • Provide support to quoting department for estimates on materials and technical requirements of projects. • Perform other project related work as assigned.
