COBOL Developer, Mainframe Modernization

Ascella Technologies, Inc.

• Analyze, develop, and migrate COBOL and JCL source code • Ensure reliability of a general ledger system • Collaborate with a high-performing team to document technical solutions • Support nightly batch cycles and participate in on-call rotation

Job Requirements

  • US Citizenship
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university
  • 8+ years of related experience
  • 4+ years of hands-on experience in COBOL and JCL development within an IBM z/OS environment
  • Strong command of TSO/ISPF, Db2, VSAM files, and QMF/SQL
  • Experience with CICS, CA-7, or CA-Endevor (preferred)
  • Familiarity with modern development tools like VS Code, Git, or GitLab (preferred)
  • Experience coding in REXX, SAS, or C/C# (preferred)
