Environmental Scientist Location: Remote (U.S.) with occasional travel Client Support: Air Force Civil Engineer Center (AFCEC) Position Type: Full-Time Position Overview We are seeking an Environmental Scientist to support environmental program and acquisition activities for the Air Force Civil Engineer Center (AFCEC). This position will assist with development and review of environmental compliance documentation, acquisition planning support, and environmental program coordination activities. The selected candidate will support environmental compliance program implementation and provide technical assistance related to environmental scope development, cost estimate support, and environmental program analysis. Key Responsibilities · Participate in project meetings and program coordination activities. · Assist with development and review of environmental compliance scopes of work. · Support development and review of Independent Government Cost Estimates (IGCEs). · Assist with research and technical responses to industry or procurement questions. · Support review of environmental program requirements packages and contractor proposals. · Assist with preparation of technical documentation and acquisition support materials. · Review contractor performance documentation and assist with contract administration support. · Assist with review of contractor billing documentation and program financial tracking. · Support preparation of environmental compliance documentation and program reports. · Provide coordination support across environmental program activities. Required Qualifications · Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science or related physical or life science discipline. · Minimum 5 years of Air Force environmental compliance experience. · Experience developing or supporting Air Force environmental compliance scopes of work. · Experience supporting Independent Government Cost Estimates (IGCEs). · Experience with environmental compliance programs such as: o Air Quality compliance o Environmental sampling plans o Environmental compliance programs o Fence-to-Fence environmental initiatives or similar projects. · Strong written and verbal communication skills. · Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications. Preferred Qualifications · Master's degree in environmental science or related field. · HAZWOPER certification · Experience supporting federal environmental programs. · Familiarity with Air Force environmental compliance programs. Additional Information · Remote work authorized with occasional travel. · Ability to obtain required federal background investigation (Position of Trust / NACLC). · Must be able to work core hours aligned with federal program schedules. Must be able to pass a background check and receive access to Hill AFB.
