Software Architect
EverCommerce
• Lead Architectural Strategy • Define and evolve technical architecture across the EverHealth product portfolio • Translate business goals into technical strategy and architectural roadmaps • Guide platform modernization efforts including evolving scale, AI adoption, system interoperability, and platform capabilities • Drive Scalable Platform Design • Design secure, scalable, and highly available distributed systems • Establish patterns for performance, resilience, and maintainability • Guide teams in adopting modern architectural patterns such as API-first architectures, event-driven systems, and microservices • Enable Healthcare Interoperability • Architect systems that support healthcare interoperability standards including FHIR and HL7 • Ensure architectural approaches align with regulatory expectations and healthcare data standards • Lead AI-Forward Innovation • Help integrate AI and machine learning capabilities into core product workflows • Partner with engineering teams to leverage LLMs, automation, and intelligent workflow support • Ensure AI capabilities are implemented in ways that are secure, scalable, and aligned with customer needs • Provide Technical Leadership • Partner with existing architects, principal engineers, and engineering leaders across EverHealth • Facilitate architecture and design reviews across teams • Mentor senior engineers and technical leaders in system design and architectural thinking • Help teams align on shared architectural patterns and platform capabilities • Partner Across the Organization • Work closely with Product, Engineering, Security, and Operations leaders • Participate in strategic planning and roadmap development • Align architecture decisions with customer needs, regulatory requirements, and business priorities
Job Requirements
- 10+ years of software engineering experience including .NET and T-SQL proficiency
- 5+ years in a software architecture role
- Experience influencing architecture across multiple teams or product lines
- Prior experience as a staff engineer, principal engineer, or senior architect strongly preferred
- Deep experience designing cloud-native systems (AWS preferred)
- Strong understanding of distributed systems, API architecture, event-driven systems, data architecture, and reliability engineering
- Experience leading architectural decisions across complex systems and teams
- Demonstrated experience designing and delivering production systems, not only reviewing architecture or documentation
- Experience with interop formats such as FHIR, HL7, EDI
- Experience with healthcare billing, clearinghouses or payer integrations
- Experience applying AI and LLM technologies within software products
- Proficiency in leveraging AI in operations and developer productivity
- Ability to influence technical decisions across teams
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Experience facilitating technical design reviews and architectural decision-making
