Network Security Engineer

• Configure, deploy, and maintain security appliances such as firewalls (Palo Alto, Fortinet, Juniper, Check Point), IPS/IDS, load balancers (F5, Citrix ADC), and VPN concentrators. • Develop, implement, and audit firewall and IPS/IDS policies. • Design, configure, and maintain application load balancing for high availability, traffic distribution, and performance optimization. • Configure and support site-to-site and remote access VPNs (IPSec, SSL VPN). • Leverage network/security monitoring tools to track device health, performance, and threats. • Deploy and manage security appliances and load balancers in public cloud environments (AWS, Azure). • Develop and maintain scripts (Python, Bash, PowerShell) to automate routine tasks, configuration backups, and reporting. • Maintain up-to-date documentation for appliance configurations, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and change logs. • Conduct regular security assessments and vulnerability scans.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field
  • At least 2 years’ hands-on experience managing network security appliances, firewalls, and load balancers in enterprise or cloud environments
  • Proficiency in configuring and troubleshooting firewalls (Palo Alto, Fortinet, Juniper, Check Point) and load balancers (F5, Citrix ADC)
  • Solid understanding of IPS/IDS systems and their integration with network architectures
  • Experience with cloud security (AWS, Azure), including deployment and management of cloud-native security appliances
  • Knowledge of networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, routing, switching, VLANs)
  • Experience with VPNs (IPSec, SSL VPN), access control, and secure remote access
  • Experience with network monitoring, management, and automation tools
  • Strong scripting/automation skills (Python, Bash, PowerShell)
  • Familiarity with industry standards and regulatory requirements (ISO, PCI, GDPR)
  • Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills
  • Effective communication and documentation abilities.
  • Relevant certifications: PCNSE, Fortinet NSE, F5 Certified BIG-IP Admin, CCNA/CCNP Security, CompTIA Security+, or similar.
  • Experience implementing Zero Trust, WAFs, and DDoS mitigation solutions.
  • Experience designing secure hybrid and multi-cloud networks.
  • Experience in both B2B and B2C environments.
  • Experience with automation/orchestration platforms (e.g., Ansible, Terraform).
