• Manage AWS cloud infrastructure: VPSes, VPCs, VPNs • Continuous enhancement of software development infrastructure • Automation of manual processes • Creation of scripts and tooling to progressively enhance the developer / team experience of handling system components • Balance system simplicity with expanding team and infra requirements • Consult with development team in infrastructure configuration issues and changes • Validate system and security settings across users that have / need access • System monitoring

• Operate, optimize and modernize our Mysql database platforms across hybrid environments, spanning both cloud-native and on-premise infrastructures. • Drive high availability, reliability, and security of production databases through automated monitoring, dynamic scaling, proactive alerting, and continuous health assessments, with a strong focus on observability and operational excellence. • Participate in the on-call program to provide application support, handle incident management, and troubleshoot production issues • Collaborate with backend developers to optimize queries, indexes, and schema design, while continuously improving the architecture and deepening your understanding of the global system • Plan and execute platform upgrades to meet evolving use cases and workloads (capacity planning, storage choices), while automating recurring tasks such as maintenance and repairs • Contribute to knowledge sharing through procedure documentation and team training, and stay current with industry best practices and emerging technologies in databases and infrastructure

• Write a small app/plugin/service to automate, i.e. infrastructure checks or support Observability • Build or extend Terraform modules and contribute to Platform Engineering around Observability • Use APM tools like Dynatrace to find performance hotspots (and issues) nobody sees yet • Investigate a tricky production issue by combining logs, metrics and traces into a clear story • Optimize a distributed system that is under a heavy load • Lead improvements after incidents - root cause, patterns, architectural recommendations • Collaborate with developers to shape feature design so that reliability is built in, not added later • You will have real influence. • Lead a high-performing DevOps/Platform squad responsible for infrastructure-as-code, observability, CI/CD, and cloud operations. • Drive the design and implementation of scalable, secure, and highly available cloud environments (primarily Azure) using Terraform and modern DevOps tools. • Spend approximately 30% of your time hands-on, contributing to IaC, automation scripts, monitoring setups, and critical system improvements. • Guide your team through effective incident management, ensuring rapid resolution, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement of system reliability. • Champion SRE best practices including error budgeting, SLAs/SLOs/SLIs, and proactive reliability engineering. • Coach and mentor engineers through pairing, reviews, and architectural discussions. • Collaborate with product and engineering stakeholders to define platform roadmaps and priorities. • Continuously evolve our CI/CD pipelines, GitHub workflows, release strategies, and operational playbooks. • Foster a DevOps culture with a strong focus on automation, security, observability, and accountability. • Ensure effective Agile ceremonies and delivery practices are followed, adapting where needed for high-performing operations-focused teams.
