Project Engineer – Electrical

• Assume responsibilities of an electrical engineer performing design of LV, HV, EHV electrical power systems • Coordinate project flow and issues between all engineering disciplines and project management • Provide engineering support to project management, procurement and construction on all stages of projects • Develop single-line switching and protection diagrams • Create equipment specifications and support procurement of equipment

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering and/or Electrical Power Engineering
  • 5+ Years’ Experience in Design of Transmission Level Substations (13.8kV – 500 kV)
  • Minimum of 3 years of application experience with SEL, GE, etc. relays.
  • Knowledge of NEC, ANSI, NEMA, IEEE and other applicable codes and standards
  • Skilled in engineering theories and principles
  • Computer Skills: Demonstrated experience in Microsoft Word, Excel, AutoCAD (2015 or later), Microsoft Outlook

Role Description The Energy Storage Project Engineer plays a critical role in the successful delivery of utility-scale battery energy storage projects. This position serves as the primary technical liaison between internal teams, customers, vendors, and contractors throughout the project lifecycle. Responsibilities include: - Reviewing contracts and technical requirements. - Supporting product design and documentation. - Coordinating network and system designs. - Managing technical deliverables. - Participating in design reviews, testing and commissioning support, and issue resolution. - Ensuring alignment with customer expectations and safety and compliance standards. This role demands strong problem-solving skills, excellent communication, and the ability to manage multiple technical tasks in a fast-paced project environment. Qualifications - Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Systems Engineering, or a related field. - Minimum of 4 years of experience in energy storage, power systems, or industrial electrical project engineering. - Knowledge of energy storage systems, including batteries and inverters. - Experience with project engineering processes, including technical document control, vendor coordination, and submittal preparation. - Strong organizational and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines. - Strong understanding of electrical drawings, wiring diagrams, SCADA systems, and network infrastructure. - Working knowledge of relevant codes and standards (e.g., NEC, IEEE, UL, NFPA). - Excellent verbal and written communication skills for interfacing with customers, vendors, and internal teams. - Ability and willingness to travel to project sites as needed for site assessments, commissioning support, and customer meetings. Requirements - Serve as the primary technical point of contact for internal teams, vendors, and customers. - Respond to RFIs, identify technical gaps, support meetings, and coordinate design changes and clarifications. - Support pre and post-award contract reviews to identify technical requirements, deliverables, and compliance risks. - Ensure all requirements are tracked and planned for timely submittals. - Review product documents, drawings, and reports to become a technical expert. - Develop project-specific Bills of Materials (BOMs) and coordinate technical requirements and approvals with vendors. - Create commissioning and test plans based on contract requirements. - Support Factory and Field Acceptance Testing (FAT/FIT) and assist with troubleshooting during commissioning. - Track technical issues, prepare weekly technical reports, and create acceptance test reports for customer approval. - Be familiar with industry standards and best practices. - Coordinate project network design between internal and external stakeholders. - Contribute to developing and updating processes by participating in lessons learned reviews.
