Role Description We're seeking a bilingual (English/Mandarin) technology journalist to cover the intersection of ad-tech, AI, fraud detection, and digital trust & safety across the Asia-Pacific region. This role sits at the cutting edge of technology journalism: reporting on how AI is reshaping digital advertising, privacy protection, and online safety for businesses and consumers across APAC markets. You'll help build our editorial voice in Asia. What You'll Do - Break News & Deliver Scoops - Report on ad-tech developments, fraud schemes, privacy violations, and regulatory changes across APAC markets - Develop sources across ad-tech platforms, agencies, brands, regulators, and technology vendors in Asia - Build relationships with key players in China's digital advertising ecosystem and emerging APAC markets - Monitor APAC news sources, industry forums, and regulatory filings in both English and Chinese - Create Compelling, Data-Driven Stories - Write articles that translate complex technical concepts - AI/ML fraud detection, programmatic advertising, CTV measurement - into accessible narratives for both technical and business audiences - Collaborate with data scientists and engineers to visualize fraud patterns and market trends - Produce bilingual content including articles, research reports, press releases, and thought leadership pieces - Write, edit, and distribute press releases for product launches, research findings, and company announcements across APAC markets - Produce Multimedia Content - Create and edit video reports for multiple platforms (LinkedIn, YouTube, industry events) - Innovate on content formats to reach diverse audiences, from technical developers to C-suite executives - Develop social media content that drives engagement across platforms - Collaborate & Represent - Work with Pixalate's research, product, and engineering teams to translate technical findings into compelling stories - Partner with teams to maintain editorial standards and content calendar - Represent Pixalate at APAC industry conferences, panels, and events - Assist with pitching stories to major trade publications and mainstream media Qualifications - Bachelor's degree from a UK, US, or equivalent international university - 3+ years of experience in technology journalism - Native or near-native fluency in both English and Mandarin (written and spoken) - Proven ability to write quickly, clearly, and accurately under deadline pressure - Strong portfolio of published work demonstrating technical depth and storytelling ability - Track record of breaking news and developing exclusive stories - Experience in real-time news environments or digital newsrooms Requirements - Deep familiarity with the ad-tech/martech ecosystem (programmatic advertising, attribution, fraud detection, privacy tech) - Video production and editing skills - Understanding of AI/ML concepts and their applications - Experience covering Asian markets, particularly China's digital advertising landscape - Existing source base within ad-tech companies, platforms, agencies, or regulatory bodies - Copyediting and proofreading skills Personal Attributes - AI and technology-savvy with genuine curiosity about emerging tech trends - Self-starter with entrepreneurial spirit and ability to work independently - Collaborative team player who thrives in cross-functional environments - Commitment to accuracy, fairness, and ethical journalism - Ability to translate complex technical concepts for diverse audiences - Comfortable challenging assumptions and asking tough questions Benefits - Flexible work arrangements, casual, remote work environment - Professional development opportunities, opportunity for advancement - Monthly internet reimbursement - Fun annual team events - Opportunity to break major stories that shape industry practices and protect consumers - Work with cutting-edge technology and world-class data scientists - Being a part of a global high performing team committed to making the internet safer for everyone, wants to win and have fun doing it
