964794 About the Team The Video Team is a group of editors, motion designers, video producers, and video creative leads at HubSpot that reports into the larger Creative Team within Marketing. Our mission is to inspire, entertain, and empower our global audience by creating original, engaging video experiences that drive measurable business results. Responsible for the production of videos that advance the HubSpot brand and drive customer acquisition, the team’s work is watched by millions globally across all major digital platforms. Our videos span the entire marketing funnel—from brand awareness campaigns to performance-driven ads, product demonstrations, educational content, and social media storytelling. Located within Marketing, this creative team partners closely with designers, creative directors, and marketers to develop videos that ladder up into multiple key strategies and plays. About This Role HubSpot is looking for a Senior Manager, Head of Video Editorial, to lead and grow our team of video editors and define what great editing looks like across every format we touch. You’ll manage a team of 4-6 editors, set the standard for storytelling craft, and build the systems and workflows that let your team consistently deliver exceptional work at scale. You’ll report directly to the Head of Video. The right person for this role started as a video editor and knows the craft inside out. You've since built and led editorial teams, and you have strong opinions about what separates good editing from great editing. You’re as comfortable giving precise, actionable feedback on a rough cut as you are making a case for headcount in a planning meeting. You think in systems like how to organize work, develop people, and create processes that scale, without losing sight of the craft that makes video powerful. You've already been experimenting with AI in editorial workflows, and you have real opinions about where it accelerates the work and where human editorial judgment is irreplaceable. You want to build the playbook for what an AI-integrated editorial team looks like, not just react to the tools as they show up. In this role, you’ll get to: - Lead and manage a team of 4-6 video editors, owning their day-to-day coaching, career development, and performance management. - Define the editorial point of view for HubSpot’s Video Team, including what our editing looks and sounds like across brand campaigns, product launches, direct response ads, social content, and everything in between. - Set clear quality standards and creative frameworks that give editors a shared foundation while leaving room for individual craft and creative risk-taking. - Partner with Video Creative Leads, the Head of Motion Design, and the Head of Video Production to plan and prioritize editorial resources across concurrent projects. - Lead AI adoption within the editorial group by identifying which parts of the editing pipeline benefit from AI tools, piloting new platforms, and partnering with our AI Video Creative Technologist to bring emerging capabilities into day-to-day editorial work. - Provide detailed, actionable feedback on edits at every stage from assembly to final delivery — elevating pacing, narrative clarity, sound design, and overall polish. - Build a team culture rooted in creative ambition, honest feedback, and continuous growth, where editors are excited to push each other and the work forward. - Stay ahead of how the editing craft is evolving because of AI, including new formats, new platforms, new audience behaviors, and new tools, then translate that perspective into a point of view on where HubSpot's editorial work should be headed. We’re looking for people who: - Have 8-10+ years of experience in video editing or post-production, with at least 3 years directly managing editors or editorial teams. - Possess a strong editorial eye and can articulate what makes an edit work (pacing, story structure, emotional arc, rhythm, sound design, etc) with specificity and clarity. - Demonstrate a track record of building team culture by hiring well, developing talent, giving tough feedback with care, and creating environments where creative people thrive. - Show hands-on familiarity with AI-assisted editorial workflows, whether that's AI-powered rough cuts, generative video tools, automated transcription and captioning, or AI audio cleanup, and can evaluate new tools with a pragmatic, craft-first perspective. - Have a point of view on how AI changes the editor's role in terms of where it makes editors faster and more creative, where human judgment is irreplaceable, and how to bring a team along on that journey without losing what makes editorial craft matter. - Can operate at both altitude and ground level, comfortably setting quarterly goals and resource plans one hour, then giving frame-level feedback on an edit the next. - Have deep familiarity with Adobe Premiere Pro, and working knowledge of After Effects, DaVinci Resolve, and Adobe Audition. - Are skilled cross-functional partners who can align editorial priorities with stakeholders in brand, product marketing, and demand generation. - Understand the nuances of editing for different platforms and objectives, knowing what works on YouTube is different from a paid social ad and is different from a keynote video. - Possess strong organizational instincts. You naturally build systems, templates, and processes that help teams do better work without adding bureaucracy. - Experience managing editorial teams in a tech, SaaS, or in-house brand environment is a plus. Agency backgrounds with a strong in-house sensibility are also welcome.
