Responsibilities Related Affordable seeks a Human Resources Generalist who will support site-based employees throughout the Mid-Western United States. The Generalist will be the first point of contact for employee relations matters and performance management for approximately 200-300 property management employees including our support teams. In addition, you’ll ensure compliance with HR policies and procedures. In this role, you’ll operate as a critical part of our business, helping develop and retain our greatest asset – our people. The Generalist will work in concert with the business and rest of the Human Resources team to execute and advance Related Affordable’s people strategy, supporting the company’s business priorities, while reducing employee turnover and improving productivity. Successful candidates will be passionate about supporting field-based teams. This role will report into Related Affordable’s HR Manger. Employee Relations - Act as first point of contact for property management teams on HR issues; provide sound guidance and advice; escalate issues as necessary - Coach and counsel managers and employees on employee issues; identify and clarify problems, evaluate potential solutions and recommend courses of action - Mediate and resolve employee relations issues; support senior HRBPs and ER specialists in investigations and recommend resolutions - Under the direction of the HR Manager, navigate sensitive and confidential issues with the highest levels of discretion, leverage Corporate HR legal resources to minimize risk in changing legal environment - Proactively address performance concerns with urgency, using corrective action as needed - For union populations, prepare all necessary paperwork in compliance with the union progressive discipline policies including written warnings, performance improvement plans and separation letters - Guide managers through performance management and preparation of performance improvement plans - Under the advisement of the HR Director, HR Manager and Corporate HR legal, comply with federal, state, and local legal requirements by studying existing and new legislation; enforcing adherence to requirements; advising management on needed actions - Analyze data and trends and partner with broader Related HR team to make recommendations that can improve retention, internal mobility and performance management - Communicate with Related Affordable’s Recruiting Team for any talent planning needs or imminent job openings Talent Development, Benefits and Data Management - Support annual review process and succession planning for all employees within designated portfolio - Partner with Corporate HR compensation team to conduct as needed market pay analysis - Provide guidance on benefits and leave matters to employees, in conjunction with Corporate Benefits team - Partner with the Corporate Benefits team to keep track of employees’ leave and accommodation claims and send documentation, including leave letters as necessary - Ensure employee data is accurate, effective, and standardized; partner with Corporate HRIS team as needed - Provide ad hoc administrative and project management support to HR Business Partners, as needed Compensation The anticipated base salary range for this position is listed below. In addition to a competitive base salary, you will be eligible to receive discretionary bonus incentives and a comprehensive benefits package. Anticipated base salary range: $75,000 - $90,000 Actual base salary within the anticipated range will be determined by several components including, but not limited to, the individual's experience, skills, qualifications, and market factors.
