Survey Technician – Heavy Civil Construction

• Execute precise field layouts based on construction plans. • Accurately layout complex structures. • Conduct layout and as-built surveys for penstock water conveyance systems. • Perform detailed topographical surveys. • Utilize CAD software for quantity calculations. • Conduct field calculations with precision. • Establish control points in various work areas. • Comprehend and implement site emergency response plans. • Understand and apply site environmental response plans, including the use of spill kits and erosion control products. • Adhere to all site safety regulations relevant to the assigned work. • Work independently with confidence and reliability.
Job Requirements
- A minimum of 2 years of experience as a construction surveyor.
- In-depth knowledge and practical experience with Trimble GNSS and Robotic equipment are mandatory.
- Completion of a 1–2 year Geomatics or Land Survey Technology diploma.
- Possession of a valid Class 5 driver's licence.
- Ability to pass drug and alcohol pre-screening tests.
- Physical fitness to perform the demanding duties of the role.

• Drive to rural areas to install & service our devices on farm locations, ranging from 1-50 in a given day. • At the site, you will be required to disinfect tires and boots, climb feed bins that range between 10 and 40 ft tall and install our sensor and small solar panel inside the site’s bin. • The installation typically takes 10 - 15 minutes. • Troubleshoot basic issues on field devices (requiring service) where applicable. • Adhere to biosecurity rules where required for each farm location. • Maintain accurate mileage records and time sheets.
• Responsible for installing and maintaining our products in a safe, timely, and accurate manner. • Meet and control operational goals and timelines- service labor per hour, first time right, 5S standards, etc. • Comply with internal processes and procedures as well as all local and federally regulated requirements including DOT, OSHA, and HACCP. • Maintain proper parts and supply levels in company service vehicles and proper paperwork standards. • Communicate with customers to ensure product performance meets customer’s expectations. • Efficiently and professionally service customers’ needs, training and coaching them on the system as needed. • Utilize iPhone apps to perform multiple functions in role (parts, customer notes, clocking in/out).
