The Staff Accountant is responsible for monthly creation of financial statements by verifying information entered in the GL system, reconciling of balance sheets, resolving outstanding items, and manual entry into GL. • Manage accounts receivable (AR), including customer follow-ups and payment reminders • Handle incasso processing and manage communication with debt collection agencies • Reconcile bank statements and process payment allocations • Maintain regular contact with customers to address outstanding balances and resolve billing discrepancies • Monitor AR aging reports and implement effective strategies to reduce outstanding debts • Processing tickets, ensuring accurate payment allocations, and contributing to customer satisfaction • Supporting month-end and year-end closing processes

On-site in Costa Mesa, CA or Remote eligible position within the US Summary: This role is ideal for a Senior Accountant with experience in lending, leasing, or financial services portfolios. The Senior Loan Accountant is responsible for contract-level accounting and portfolio oversight, partnering with accounting leadership and internal stakeholders to maintain strong controls and ensure reliable financial data. Role Description The Blockchain & Climate Institute (BCI) is an international volunteers-led think tank supporting and advocating the application of blockchain technology in the global fight against climate change. We are looking for a passionate VOLUNTEER Accounting Officer (EU-based) who will support the organization’s financial operations by collecting, analyzing, and reporting financial data. The role involves assisting with budgeting, VAT compliance, and other financial activities that help shape climate policy on a global platform. - Assist in maintaining accurate financial records and postings to the general ledger; - Support the preparation and monitoring of budgets and forecasts; - Reconcile bank accounts monthly, verify deposits, and address inquiries from banks; - Prepare and submit VAT returns and ensure compliance with relevant regulations; - Assist in preparing financial performance reports for senior management; - Provide explanations for variances against budget and assist with re-forecasts; - Collaborate with auditors and financial analysts to ensure accurate reporting; - Perform other related duties as assigned.
