Job Description

Staff Technical Program Manager (Industry Verticals - AI Agents)

Trase Systems

About Us Co-founded in 2023 by Joe Laws and Grant Verstandig, Trase Systems is AI, Uncomplicated. Trase empowers enterprise leaders to harness the full potential of AI without the associated complexity and risks. We are an end-to-end solution for deploying, managing, and optimizing AI in the enterprise. Our platform specializes in bridging the “last mile” of AI adoption, unlocking AI's full potential while driving efficiency and significant cost savings. Trase is at the forefront of AI Agent innovation, topping the Hugging Face GAIA Leaderboard for Generalized AI Assistants, ahead of industry giants such as Google, Meta, Microsoft, and OpenAI. We are leveraging our cutting-edge technologies to develop mission-critical agentic applications in complex industries such as Healthcare, Oil & Gas, and National Security. About the Role As a Staff Technical Program Manager, you will own execution across customer-facing vertical programs - including national security, healthcare, and enterprise deployments - ensuring that platform capabilities translate into successful, secure, and reliable customer outcomes. This is not a coordination or reporting role. You are responsible for: - Driving execution across complex, high-stakes customer programs - Managing delivery under strict compliance, security, and operational constraints - Ensuring customer commitments are met with predictable, production-ready outcomes You will operate at the intersection of: - Customer programs (national security, healthcare, enterprise verticals) - Platform engineering (agent runtime, workflows, system capabilities) - DevOps / SRE (deployment models, environments, reliability, incident readiness) - Security & compliance (ATO/RMF, HIPAA, enterprise security requirements) You are expected to be deeply technical, with demonstrated ability to: - Understand deployment architectures across cloud, VPC, and on-prem environments - Reason about system behavior, APIs, and integration points in customer contexts - Engage engineering teams on tradeoffs between delivery speed, security, and reliability Why this Role is Needed Customer-facing programs - particularly in highly regulated industries - introduce constraints that significantly increase execution complexity: - Strict compliance and security requirements (e.g., RMF/ATO, HIPAA, enterprise controls) - Environment fragmentation (on-prem, VPC, sovereign deployments) - High coordination overhead across customers, engineering, and stakeholders - Elevated expectations for reliability, auditability, and incident readiness As Trase expands across verticals, the bottleneck shifts to: - Customer coordination and stakeholder alignment - Integration sequencing and environment readiness - Release coordination under compliance constraints - Operational readiness and incident management This role exists to: - Reduce coordination and communication overhead on engineering teams - Ensure customer programs are structured, sequenced, and unblocked - Improve reliability and predictability of delivery on customer commitments - Maintain strong security and operational posture while moving quickly - This aligns with the need for dedicated TPM coverage to handle high coordination load in customer programs and protect engineering focus. Scope of Responsibilities - Own end-to-end execution of customer-facing programs across national security, healthcare, and enterprise verticals, translating ambiguous customer requirements and platform capabilities into clear, actionable delivery plans. - Coordinate customer milestones, integration timelines, and deployment readiness across engineering, DevOps/SRE, and external stakeholders, ensuring alignment on scope, sequencing, and success criteria. - Manage compliance and security-driven constraints (e.g., RMF/ATO processes, HIPAA considerations, enterprise security requirements), ensuring delivery plans account for approval cycles, evidence generation, and audit readiness. - Identify and manage cross-team and cross-environment dependencies (platform services, infrastructure, integrations), reducing integration risk and preventing delivery delays. - Establish and maintain execution cadence for customer programs, including milestone tracking, readiness reviews, stakeholder updates, and escalation paths. - Drive release and deployment readiness across environments (cloud, VPC, on-prem), ensuring systems are validated, secure, and operationally ready before customer delivery. - Partner with DevOps/SRE to ensure incident readiness, monitoring, and operational procedures are in place for customer deployments, particularly in high-assurance environments. - Act as the central point of accountability for delivery status, risks, and tradeoffs across customer programs, ensuring transparency and proactive risk mitigation. Staff-Level Expectations - This role operates at system and program scope across customers, not individual projects. You will: - Influence execution across multiple teams and external stakeholders - Balance customer needs with platform constraints and long-term architecture - Drive clarity in highly ambiguous, high-stakes environments - Deliver outcomes that improve reliability and predictability of customer delivery Qualifications Required - 8–10+ years of experience in technical program management, engineering, or related roles - Experience delivering complex technical systems to external customers or regulated environments - Strong understanding of distributed systems, deployment models, and integration challenges - Demonstrated ability to drive execution across teams and stakeholders under ambiguity - Eligibility to get security clearance or currently has one Technical Depth (Critical) - Strong technical fluency with ability to understand system architecture, APIs, and deployment patterns - Experience working with cloud and/or on-prem environments, networking, and infrastructure constraints - Familiarity with security and compliance frameworks (e.g., RMF/ATO, HIPAA, enterprise security controls) - Ability to engage in technical tradeoff discussions across engineering, security, and operations Strongly Preferred - Experience working on national security or government programs (or willingness to pursue clearance) - Experience with regulated industries (healthcare, defense, enterprise security) - Familiarity with Kubernetes, Infrastructure-as-Code, and observability systems - Experience supporting customer-facing deployments or enterprise integrations Working Style - High ownership and accountability - Strong bias for action and clarity - Comfortable operating in ambiguity and external-facing environments - Focused on outcomes over process Some travel is required. If you want to be on the cutting edge of technology, building AI solutions for the future, and are up for a challenge, let’s talk! Salary Range: $170,000-230,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience, skills, and other factors. #LI-RCP Our Trase Benefits: For full-time roles only - Career track opportunity with potential for rapid advancement with strong performance as the firm grows - 100% employer paid, comprehensive health care including medical, dental, and vision for you and your family. - Paid maternity and paternity for 14 weeks at employees' normal pay. - Unlimited PTO, with management approval. - Opportunities for professional development and continued learning. - Optional 401K, FSA, and equity incentives available. - Mental health benefits are available through Tara Mind.
