Mission The Business Controller is responsible for managing and overseeing financial processes, supporting business strategy, and ensuring that company resources are efficiently allocated. This role involves analyzing financial data, monitoring business performance, preparing financial reports, and collaborating with various departments to optimize financial performance Functions and Responsibilities: - Financial Planning and Analysis - Conduct budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis. - Prepare and review financial reports and business cases for strategic initiatives. - Develop, monitor, and update key performance indicators (KPIs) to track progress toward financial goals. - Business Performance Monitoring - Monitor financial and operational performance, identifying trends and areas for improvement. - Provide actionable insights and recommendations to senior management based on financial analysis. - Partner with business units to ensure alignment between financial performance and strategic objectives. - Cost Control and Efficiency - Identify areas of cost reduction and process improvements. - Collaborate with departments to ensure cost efficiency and adherence to financial policies. - Analyze cost structures and recommend adjustments to optimize profitability. - - Financial Reporting and Compliance - Ensure accurate, timely monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting. - Support compliance with financial and regulatory requirements. - Assist with audits, both internal and external, to ensure the integrity of financial records. - Strategic Support and Decision-Making - Support decision-making by providing financial analysis and insights on new investments, acquisitions, and major projects. - Develop financial models to support business case evaluations and strategy planning. - Act as a key advisor to senior management on financial matters. What You’ll Do Financial Management - Oversee all accounting operations, including general ledger, accounts payable (AP), accounts receivable (AR), and month-end/year-end close processes. - Act as a trusted financial partner to leadership by delivering clear, accurate insights that inform decision-making Financial Reporting & Accuracy - Prepare accurate and timely financial statements, reports, and forecasts for leadership and stakeholders. - Continuously improve reporting to make financial data more actionable and accessible. Cash Flow Management - Monitor and manage cash flow to support our continued growth while maintaining our break-even status. - Support budgeting and forecasting in a high-growth SaaS environment, proactively identifying risks and opportunities. The Opportunity Lawmatics is seeking a Fractional Controller to own the accounting function end-to-end during a critical period for our business. We are preparing for our first financial statement audit of the FY2025 books and need an experienced operator to take over day-to-day bookkeeping, own the month-end close, lead year-end cleanup, and build the internal controls infrastructure that sets us up to scale.
