Role Description The Data Scientist will ensure continuous improvement of the program’s data quality through solutions and strategies to address business challenges. This role involves working closely with data operations and reporting teams to design, develop, and execute automated data reporting solutions with the highest standards of quality and performance. This role requires a strong technical background, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to work collaboratively in a SAFe Agile environment. The Data Scientist will play a critical role in improving the quality and accessibility of data solutions to support the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) in detecting and preventing fraud, waste, and abuse within government-sponsored health programs. - Collaborate with product owners, customers, team members, and leaders to shape data-driven strategies. - Develop solutions and strategies to address business challenges. - Research and devise innovative statistical models for data analysis. - Automate repetitive reports and deliveries. - Apply statistical methods, machine learning, and artificial intelligence tools to detect anomalies and trends to make informed decisions. - Run data pilot analysis, comparative performance analysis. - Streamline performance and data quality analysis on various data sources. - Develop and deploy machine learning models into production environment by collaborating with other engineers and developers. - Monitor model performance, refine/update models algorithms as needed. - Collaborate with internal teams and developers to design, develop, automate and maintain data analytics reports and dashboards. - Provide support in ad-hoc analysis to meet customer needs. - Present insights and findings to business owners, customers, and leadership. - Able to effectively transfer knowledge and train team members in the processes. - Participate in Agile ceremonies, such as sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives, to provide input on testing progress and challenges. - Continuously improve testing processes, tools, and techniques to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the testing efforts. Qualifications - 5+ years of experience as a Data Scientist or similar role. - Experience with data analytics tools (SQL, R, Python) and data visualization tools (like Tableau, PowerBI, AWS Quicksight). - Experience designing, training, validating, and deploying machine learning models and algorithms. - Experience with cloud computing tools such as AWS, Azure, and GCP. - Experience with version control systems (GitHub). - Knowledge of databases (PostgreSQL, Oracle) and data modeling. - Experience with agile methodologies (SAFe, Scrum) and tools (Jira, Confluence). - Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment. - Strong analytical and problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to identifying and addressing issues. - Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, agile environment and deadline-driven environment. - Proven track record of innovation and continuous improvement. - Must be able to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance. - Must have lived in the United States 3 out of the past 5 years. Preferred Experience - SAFe Agile Certification. - Assess/evaluate to deliver timely data analysis, and data solutions against client requirements. - Ensure customer satisfaction through follow-up, client responsiveness, and thorough communication. - Ability to manage multiple clients and projects/tasks simultaneously. - Experience in healthcare IT and understanding of regulatory requirements such as HIPAA. - Experience and/or knowledge of CMS processes and standards. • Manage a team in building interactive dashboards, predictive models, and reporting solutions using tools such as Power BI, Python, SQL • Apply advanced analytics techniques (e.g., statistical modelling, machine learning) to identify trends, forecast outcomes, and support business decision making • Delivery of analysis, dashboards, and sharp insights that enable Finance leaders to quickly understand and effectively make decisions • Guide automation of data processing and transformation using Python, SQL, and modern cloud-based platforms • Establish and enforce data governance and quality assurance standards across all projects.

• Design, build, and refine machine learning models that identify members at high risk for costly MSK interventions using claims, EMR, and enriched external data. • Own the technical architecture for Predict's data pipelines, ensuring reliable ingestion, transformation, and delivery of healthcare data at scale. • Establish and maintain ML ops practices—model versioning, monitoring, retraining pipelines, and performance tracking. • Conduct rigorous analysis of algorithm performance, cost curve impact, and ROI delivered to clients. • Stay current on healthcare data standards, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices. • Work closely and collaboratively with Sword’s Data team to ensure Predict’s work is embedded within the Tech team’s overall infrastructure and best practices. • Manage, mentor, and grow a team of data scientists and data engineers. • Set clear goals, provide regular feedback, and create development opportunities for each team member. • Foster a culture of intellectual rigor, collaboration, and continuous improvement. • Hire additional team members as Predict scales. • Serve as Predict's technical subject matter expert in client meetings, sales cycles, and implementation discussions. • Translate complex data science concepts into clear, compelling narratives for non-technical audiences. • Partner with customer success and sales teams to demonstrate Predict's value proposition and build client confidence. • Support business reviews, QBRs, and strategic discussions with data-driven insights alongside our Health Economics & Customer Insights team. • Work closely with product and engineering teams to align Predict's technical roadmap with platform strategy. • Collaborate with health economics to validate clinical and financial outcomes. • Partner with data access and integration teams to expand the data assets available for Predict models.

• Develop new educational products based on insights, stakeholder interviews and validation with target audiences. • Lead co-creation processes with partner institutions, aligning technical, academic and market requirements. • Translate strategic concepts into comprehensive documentation, including pedagogical specifications, marketing guidelines and enablement materials for internal teams (sales, marketing, content). • Define course positioning and value proposition, linking product attributes to market needs and competitive differentiators. • Monitor the course lifecycle, collaborating on updates, maintenance and portfolio evolution initiatives. • Analyze market, competitor and product performance data to recommend adjustments and new opportunities.
