Role Description Business System Solutions is seeking a Systems Engineer (non-supervisory) to work for a Federal client in Washington, D.C. Services may be performed remotely or on-site, as determined by the government/client. Occasional in-person meetings or site visits may be required with reasonable notice. The Systems Engineer is responsible for offering expert IT advisory services focused on infrastructure design, system optimization, and strategic technology guidance. This role integrates advanced knowledge of IT infrastructure with consultative skills to guide technology strategy and implementation across the client space. Key Responsibilities - Collaborate with engineers, developers, and project managers to gather and validate technical information. - Translate complex technical concepts into simple, easy-to-understand language for non-technical audiences. - Organize and present information logically to enhance clarity, comprehension, and usability. - Ensure documentation aligns with project requirements, style standards, and organizational guidelines. - Demonstrated ability with documentation and productivity tools (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Acrobat, Visio). • Support the Sales Account Executive team in a Pre-Sales Capacity • Assist in design, planning, and implementation of a Secure Network Solution Engineer • Provide consultative support for pre-sales and customers • Present at trade shows and oversee internal demonstrations • Prepare and deliver customer presentations • Provide educational training on Extreme Networks products

• Analyze and document requirements for enhancements and fixes in existing systems; • Specify APIs, information flows, and integrations between internal systems and market platforms; • Perform functional and technical analysis of incidents; • Monitor corrective and evolutionary maintenance; • Validate deliveries with end users; • Specify integrations and workflows between internal and third-party systems; • Support developers in error analysis (including reading code when necessary); • Coordinate priorities with business areas; • Support deployment of improvements to production; • Train users and support acceptance testing.

• Own the end-to-end Jamf Pro environment—enrollment workflows, configuration profiles, patch management, App Catalog, Self Service, and macOS compliance baselines. • Manage and mature Microsoft Intune for the Windows fleet: device enrollment, compliance policies, application deployment, and conditional access integration. • Design and enforce endpoint compliance frameworks (CIS benchmarks, encryption, OS patching) across macOS and Windows. • Lead the evaluation and implementation of Endpoint Detection & Response (EDR) solutions, ensuring seamless integration with MDM. • Build automated onboarding and offboarding workflows for endpoints, integrating with Okta and employee lifecycle tooling. • Drive endpoint security posture: disk encryption enforcement, firewall policies, secure boot configurations, and application allowlisting/blocklisting. • Contribute to Zero Trust network architecture: VPN management and migration strategy, DNS security (DNS filtering, DoH/DoT), and secure remote access. • Hands-on experience with Network Security tools like Palo Alto Prisma, Twingate, Cloudflare, etc. • Collaborate with SRE/Infrastructure teams on network segmentation, firewall rules, and security monitoring. • Assist in cloud infrastructure operations across AWS/GCP, including IAM policy reviews, SSO integrations, and access governance. • Support the design and implementation of Zero Trust access controls for production and customer cloud environments. • Partner with IT and security to ensure MDM-to-IdP integration is robust, enabling device trust as a factor in conditional access policies. • Automate repetitive IT workflows using scripting (Bash, Python, PowerShell) and low-code/no-code platforms. • Build dashboards and reporting for endpoint health, compliance posture, and SLA metrics. • Serve as the Subject Matter Expert for endpoint engineering within the IT/Systems Engineering function. • Build scalable endpoint architecture aligned with the company’s growth trajectory toward 800–1,000 employees. • Document standards, architectures, runbooks, and processes for internal enablement. • Mentor junior team members as the Systems Engineering function expands.
