Full Stack Developer (Remote)

Description ICF is a rapidly growing, entrepreneurial, multi-faceted consulting company, seeking a full stack developer to support our work across NIH. We look for someone who loves to learn and is passionate about their work. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in full stack web application development, experience with relevant tools and frameworks, and a passion for continuous learning and innovation. This is a remote position. The ability to work standard Eastern Time is expected. What you’ll be doing: - Design and develop scalable web applications with a variety of frameworks. - Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and deliver new features. - Ensure the performance, quality and responsiveness of applications. - Stay up-to-date with industry trends and emerging technologies. Mandatory Requirements: - Bachelor’s degree in a technical field: Computer Science, Engineering, or related discipline. - 2 or more years’ experience in full stack application development. - 2 or more years’ experience in React/Angular. - 1+ year of experience with front-end technologies – HTML, CSS,JavaScript. - Experience with version control systems, preferably Git. - Experience using Shell scripting. - Ability to obtain and maintain a public trust - U.S. Citizenship required (required by federal government for position) Desired Requirements: - Familiarity with database systems such as PostgreSQL. - Experience using Linux scripting. - Experience in Python development. - Hands-on experience with Microsoft Power Apps experience. - Experience using Microsoft Power BI for creating interactive reports and dashboards. - Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, GCP to support scalable and secure deployments. - Knowledge of security best practices and compliance standards, particularly in cloud and enterprise environments. - Team player with the ability to work in a fast-paced and collaborative setting. Job Overview: The Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) is seeking a full-stack Java & React developer to build and support services to be shared by multiple teams and projects across the Department. This position will contribute to DHHS IT program objectives while promoting and supporting enterprise reuse of components. The developer will receive direction from a DHHS Lead Technical Architect. The developer will plan, analyze, design, and develop various micro-services in a cloud environment. The developer will also contribute to front-end React applications that consume those services as needed. The ability to communicate with technical team members, business users, and management is required. Specific Duties: Under general direction, responsible for all phases of development and maintenance on assigned computer applications; communicates with business analysts to determine system requirements; researches system enhancements and problems; performs analysis and design of computer applications; performs programming and testing; performs related work as assigned. Position works directly with various levels of business and technical staff to determine sound technical solutions for business requirements. This position designs, codes, tests and documents micro-service applications and React front-end applications. Position has full technical knowledge of all phases of applications development and the development technologies utilized. Position provides production support for small and large, simple and complex applications including the ability to resolve problems in constrained timeframes. Position may have occasional off hours support. Position may be responsible for mentoring less experienced team members. Position may lead small-to-medium projects or components of larger projects.
